I'm setting up an A1200 for use with WHDLoad. I think I may need to add a co-processor/extra memory to get a better experience. I have a card now, but it's just extra memory, no co-processor.
Could anyone recommend a few cards that would work for this purpose? I see Blizzards for sale quite a bit, are there any models etc worth looking at?
Thanks,
J

The best configuration for WhdLoad in your A1200, in my opinion, is to equip her with a Blizzard 1230 MKIV with 32 or 64MB of Fast RAM and you're done.

No cpu or fpu upgrade is required. An 8mb ram board is more than adequate.

+1 to above 8mb ram makes a nice smooth experience. no need for anything faster, fast ram alone will increase your A1200 speed.

4mb will work but you will get the black loading/buffering screen on anything bigger than a couple of disks.

An 030 with RAM is very good. Do it right the first time

I have a 4MB FAST RAM card - at least if you keep if 4MB, the PCMCIA card slot will still work ;)

There are no WHDLoad games that require an FPU, so you do not need a co-processor. A Fast RAM card like the one you have is perfectly sufficient for a good WHDLoad experience.

When I have the expansion card jumpered to 8mb, the A1200 doesn't want to boot, but jumpered to 4MB it will load. I've tried a couple of point and click games, and they stutter any time the CF card is accessed. Is this a problem with WHDload, or is 4MB fast ram just not enough?
Thanks,
J
