I think a lot of work for him to govern and then the winner lived in Australia so shipping was fun.

next one,iiyama s702gt

dead, presumed power failure, fixed the supply to find out the tube is bad,i seen a flash inside the tube before it shut down,
possibly went to air,or its shorted
and it does the same exact thing every time

so thats the end of that of that one,its turning into a pretty depressing thread

been a while so this needs updating

this is a iiyama mf - 8617e

would turn off after 3 seconds, that was a power supply fault, couldnt find any bad caps,so changed the two switching ic's this uses 3842 chips
then it stays turned on but wouldnt lock to any signal as a primary source from my crappy laptop, strange fault, wipped the settings and turned off the power saving function, and it started to work
theory from me is power started to go and currupted the firmware a bit
luckilly i programmed two new eeproms and now it works no problem

annoying thing about this,is you cant use the menu without a signal source, that can be a real problem if tyour trying to wipe settings to make it stay on

pictures for the picture fiends,to show it works, only one left now,and thats what the thread was about originaly

Great stuff

Now onto the "Mitsubishi", Fingers crossed you can find the intermittent fault.

i spent today stripping this 2070 down, ill leave some pics here to look at
all im going to say is they really really didnt want anyone going in there to fix anything

i removed some of the panels and power supply to get it to this point
second picture is when i realise i have to fully disassemble the chassis to get the main deflection out becuase clips stop it from being pulled
after all that i think i found two caps that look bad to me,slighty domed, but not in the vertical section
last pic is the amount of screws taken out so far,for giggles

ill use the time waiting for parts to give this a bit of a clean

just to add im going to recap certain areas including those two caps, which are not in the vertical section
so to add,im going to replace 5 capactiros and a vertical ic,and see how i get on,im not lookijg forward to assembling this one for obvious reasons
ill get it to a point where i can test it after,so im not fully assembling it

after a bit more thought,im going to go ahead and partly recap part of the power supply, primary and secondary side,as a precausion

right im calling it a day with the 2070,it works here after a bit of work, one thing i will say,its harder to take the thing apart

anyway,i took a picturte to show it works, not that it wasnt before
i just need to put the plastic's back on(outer case and stand etc)
