Been looking off and on for a reputable SID source for some time! Why didn't I check Amibay sooner?!

Declaring interest in 5x of each revision you have available :)

so sad, I don't like it when old precious stuff get missing in post :(

If still available, I'd like to declare interest for:

1 * 6581R4
1 * 6581R4AR
1 * 8580R5

All in all, 3 SIDs.
Thanks!

declaring interest in one 6581R4 or, if R4 not available then R3 is fine,
thanks

I ordered a c64 reloaded and need a SID chip, but I have no idea which is the best version or why I would want one vs another. Recommendations?

Thanks!

Declaring interest in one SID 6581 but same thing for me what's the difference between R3 and R4 ?
This is my dead one

You know you could have ordered a NOS 8580 together with your Reloaded board?

The 8580 has less distortion and is more like the SID was supposed to sound like, however the flaws in the 6581 models are liked by many as the distortion can make it sound more 'full' or 'warm' whatever you call it. I think many newer demos are designed for the 8580 and thus may not sound right on an 6581, so optimally you would want both with a SID switcher. :)

Actually I did order the NOS 8580 with my Reloaded board, but I thought the 6581 was the supposed to have the "truest" SID sound quality.

Maybe a SID switcher would be a good idea -- then I can have the best of both worlds I suppose :)
