Hi Chaps
My favourite Amiga of all time is the CDTV and Ive been wanting to upgrade it as much as I could and make a WHDload machine. Ive always liked the stock look so I didn't want to make it so the lid doesn't close or I have to chop or slice the nice case.
Its quite hard to find all the bits but it is now finally complete
What I have done:
1. Upgraded the 680000 processor with a 68010 Ceramic and Gold. This allows me to use the quit key in WHDLOAD and gives a slight boost.
2. Upgraded the CHIP RAM to 2MB using a megachip and 2mb Fat Agnus.
3. Added 4mb Autoconfig Fast RAM into the expansion connector.
4. Upgraded from OCS for ECS using Super Denise.
5. Installed a CFI IDE adapter which is slim enough to allow me to close the lid. This adapter has the CF connector attached and fits directly into the processor socket.
6. Installed a CF card with WHD load and nice library of games
7. Added a 1.3/3.1 custom kickstart with manual switch.
8. Added a CDTV joyport adapter as the CDTV doesn't have standard joystick ports.
9. Swapped the top lid for a new old stock CDTV top lid.
10. Made a custom expansion cover to house the joyport sockets and switch. (This is temporary until I get my metal one made).
11. Upgraded odd even roms to 2.70
I have also got the CDTV Trackball which allows you to connect 2 joystick to the CDTV. I even have the special cable so you don't have to use it wireless.
I have the CDTV mouse in mint condition
A new old stock CDTV infra red remote controller
A black CDTV Disk Drive
A CDTV Keyboard with black keys
I have a wanted thread for a CDTV monitor however in the meantime I am using a very special Sony TV that has a playstation 2 built into the base. It matches the CDTV perfectly. (I will do a separate photo thread as it quite a rare item that was only sold in the UK for a very short while).
Hope you like the pics
