Hey guys - so my BLIZZARD 1230 IV 68030 (16MB) finally arrived. Took a while to ship here from Italy. I only had about 5 minutes as I was leaving the house, but I installed it, plugged all the cables back into the A1200, turned it on, and......... nothing much happened. I got the green Power light which kind of blinked faintly and nothing on the screen. No HDD indicator - no activity.

I didn't have time to even recheck that it was seated properly etc, but it occurred to me that I'm not even sure that that is all that's required to install one as I've never done it before. Is it just plug and play? There's nothing on the motherboard that needs to be changed/jumpered off or anything like that?

Assuming (for the time being) that the card IS okay, I just wanted to clarify that there's nothing else that I need to do, other than plug it into the Amiga?

So, I removed the RAM and the machine boots up fine. So possibly the SIMM is faulty, or... is there anything needed with the jumper on board? There's options for 70ns or 60ns as well as "Maprom" and "No Map" (or something along those lines).

When the machine boots is it still from the card or is it just ignoring it (you could see what CPU is shown on sysinfo).
Make sure the metal motherboard shield is not touching the card at all - When Is till had the shield I bent the lip back out of the way.

It's all good. I removed the RAM and reseated it. Nothing. Did it again. All working. Looks like maybe just a dirty contact or something basic like that. It's now all working perfectly.

Whoever said you won't know yourself once you have an accelerator was right - the games run AMAZING :)

When I first installed my ACA and Blizzard in 2011- I pushed fully onto edge connector of 1200 - booted up nothing - at first what I thought was fully installed - wasn't as I was too wary of pushing hard on accelerator against computer. It wasn't until I stripped down to looking at mobo and accelerator together to see how to fully engage them that I had it properly installed. Switched on amiga - not recognised on sys info...argh! Switched off amiga- pulled back accelerator a touch on edge connector and switch back on amiga and it worked !! These things can be fussy :)

Definitely seems to be the case with this SIMM. Had me worried for a half hour there...... :)

That is a good card. Enjoy.
