I will also say that it seems like people are being pretty darn patient, all things considered. Those who receive their cases are excited and talk up and down about how cool it is. What more do you want?

@AmigaUser
If this campaign were mismanaged the way you think it was -no one- would have gotten A500 cases. Simple as that.
Public relations? Imaginary hate campaign? Come back once you went through what I lived, then we'll talk 🤣
What you seen not been a good look is in fact just your opinion - and you're free to have it of course. It doesn't mean anything else.
As myself I treat people the way they treat me. Be nice, I'm nice.
When the team make a statement, then it is what it is. Its not to please nor disrespect. Its to share statuses and what happens/ed.
We're amiga users. Just like you and anybody else. Believe it or not, we're waiting too!

@SilkWorm
You think our cases DO yellow?
Hey sure mate you can think whatever you want.
And I say this with all due respect.
I reached a point where I know anything I say doesn't matter anymore.

Cheers

I never said anything about how bad I thought the campaign was managed, all I said was that it is mismanaged, but your response further highlights the original issue and points to a larger problem. While your personal life is nobody's business, you do seem quick to use it as a defense strategy for a campaign that should have ended years ago.

Upon a closer look, I'm seeing Indiegogo updates where you spend months (on two different campaigns, in tandem) essentially telling donors you're getting ready to get ready. It always seems to be the fault of everyone and everything else, but I have yet to see a single post where you take responsibility for any of what has happened (including the post right above this to Silkworm).

There are other (smaller) operations such as Retro Game Restore who appear to be doing much of the same thing as A1200 but for consoles. How is it they utilize the same "heavy industry" injection process, sell to a much wider audience, have a faster stock turnaround, and managed to build a larger product portfolio while establishing their business a few years after the A1200 campaigns started...but this is still a unique issue for you, specifically? Thinking about it, RGR even offers personal apologies and compensation when things go south.

I said what I needed to say. I'm moving on after this post. This isn't coming from a place of being a bad person, as much as it is being intrigued by your reply and seeing things for what they are.

@Amenophis :
what do you think of the idea discussed earlier in this thread, about adapting existing A1200 cases to accomodate an A600 mobo?
Can the A600 use an A1200 keyboard or A1200 keyboard replica with an adapter?

Lots of things are techically doable.
But is it the direction to go?

- Adapting cases ==> molds retooling. To what extend I can't say... we'd need to inquire engineers and make a CNC proto to see things
- As for keyboard, we have a Mech keyboard that is going to show up after A500 cases are all out to contributors. An A600 variant isn't out of the question if you were thinking at it.

Honestly I think the 600 didn't get much love compared to others..

What you guys think?

I think the 600 is a great machine I use mine way more than my 500. If there was mech keyboard and case released, I'd sign up

It does not matter what I think, in my previous post I am referring to facts, not to my personal opinion.

Be nice, I'm nice.

That might work in personal life, but not necessarily when running a business.
Here in the Central Europe if you decide to run a company, you shall be aware the customer is always right / customer is king.

Over and out.

I’m sorry but you are not a king/queen as a customer in Central Europe. You have as many rights as given by law. Let’s not exaggerate.

First of all, thank you for renovating the bodywork of the immortal amiga.
Before you, we spray painted cases and spent the afternoons bleaching yellowed keyboards under the sun's rays.
There is a saying in Italy: "he who doesn't do doesn't make mistakes" and it usually refers to the losers.
It is normal in a production process to encounter inconveniences and/or some dissatisfied customers (big names also happen to make mistakes, but they have the financial capacity to remedy them).
Personally I purchased 4 black keyboards and 1 black Amiga 500 case directly from the a1200.net site and 1 gray case for Amiga 1200 on an Australian site because they ended up on a1200.net. I found no defects and guys let me tell you: seeing the refurbished Amiga after 40 years is worth both the money spent and the wait.
So... let me tell you: you're right, the amiga 600 hasn't received much love compared to the Amiga 500 and 1200.
It has the perfect factory form, taking up little space compared to its colleagues 500 and 1200.
I'm thinking of buying at least three black Amiga 600 cases.

Take the time you want but please give us this dream!
Thank you again, Phil.

It's been said before on other threads. If worried about yellowing, the best fail safe would be to buy any color other than the original beige /white.

I personally love the color scheme of the original Amigas and the black/grey CD32 themed but, I can't have both, unless I buy 2 of every Amiga I own, which i try not to think about. :LOL:

@Watson

Strangely enough, I don't have a single original A1200 case here. All mine are at least one of the entire range of available colours, plus the Asahii's.

@miggymad ,

I totally forgot about the Asahii cases.. I love the look of the Arashi Grey Limited Edition. I have been tempted for the A1200 board I have but, currently my heart is set on a Checkmate case :)

@giuper74
Thanks for the nice words but thankfully I'm not alone as a1200net is 6 people. Most stays in the back for dev stuff as they don't need the heat 🤣

@miggymad
You lucky! I didn't keep each copy of all A1200 cases variants we made as i ended up giving them to few Amiga users who never failed to bug me about *that* color they really want 😅
So I just gave away and now have no more. Just my working unit with a dual Transparent top + darkblue bottom.
I do try to keep a copy of each thing we create now.

@Watson "If worried about yellowing,"
To confirm once more, our cases aren't prone to yellow. In fact they're more resilient. The difference is that most people complaining forgot the Original A1200 HAD a dual tone setup. Hence the sentence "when I got my original A1200 keycaps I realized my white case gone yellow" being wrong. It is memory playing tricks.Not saying accidents can't happen of course.

If ever we do an A600 case (and without crowdfunding hopefully), we'll use the same engineers, same plastic, and same theme for Original A600 ^^

About Asahi, those were Marcel's design with the Japanese theme and all. I like them too.

Cheers guys,
Merry christmas to you all and happy new year.

We need them! I have already bought 2 A500 cases from them!

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but in 9 months there has been nowhere near 800 interested parties for the 600 case. OK-I will duck and hide now.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but amibay.com isn't indicative of the larger vintage computing community coming together on an even larger crowdfunding platform. OK-I will duck and hide now.

;)
