Hi amibay community,I have to be honest and say i am looking to sell my old kit but im in a bit of a dilemma. The old amiga comes out of the cupboard every blue moon and swiftly gets put back after the missus moans about wires and the like.Do i sell all my amiga stuff on amibay or just put the missus on ebay?Only joking,it would cost me a fortune to post her .
Right, back to the dilemma,i Really love the game scorched tanks and have tried the pc version pocket tanks deluxe which doesnt quite hit the mark but does the job.I also need some wonga(too much month left before payday).Do i sell all my kit and make do with pocket tanks or do i just sell my accelerator card and keep the amiga with its hard drive(all 250 mb of it). Also Im not sure of what its all worth and would like some advice/help.I was considering putting the lot on fleabay with a 99p start and hoping there would be people interested until i came across this site.Seems the actual amiga isnt worth as much as the accelerators and probably more people would be interested in this item alone rather than an amiga/harddrive/accelerator bundle.
Apology`s in advance if this post should be elsewhere.Cheers in advance for the feedback.

I've had to edit your post to remove the hardware list - we don't want to tempt silent bidding.

Please relax with a drink or two while you flick through the rules again. Dave G

Hi Maximus and welcome to Amibay, i'm sure you'll enjoy it.

However in your introduction your asking for help with the worth of your items which around is not something we actually are allowed to do due to price driving.
The only help i can suggest is to do a search around here for like items and also search some other Amiga forums for previous sales and when you've found a few settle on a price you'd be happy with. You can always add or nearest offer to the end of your asking price and that way people can make you offers around your price.
Your <snip> is definitely a popular item.
If the item doesn't sell then you can always lower your price or take it over to Ebay at a later date.

Mike

Mike, sorry I've edited your post a touch as well. I know you were only trying to help but I thought it wise to snip that bit out. Dave G

Hey m8 and welcome

Does this game need extra ram to play from whdload? I would unplug that accelerator and see if it plays without it. Not all whdload games need extra ram. You may also need to go back to workbench 3.0 as well. Depending on what you are running now. You could also play from disk? Also you could sell the accelerator and use some of the money to buy a 4 meg ram expansion.

Hope this helps

I see its only a shareware game anyway. I don't think you would need any extra ram for it. Try it without the board plugged in.

Have fun whatever you choose.

Thanks for the swift reply mike,im sorry if ive upset anyone on the price driving thing, i had seen a few but they vary in price and (obviously i want as much as i can get) didnt want to put a stupid price up.I had seen this type from £***ish and with there being different variations i wasnt actually sure if mine is the type that would command such a price. Also i bought the hard drive of a friend many moons back who said it was scsi and on the info screen it says scsi, now this might sound daft  but is this a scsi drive? as ive seen accelerators with offering scsi but the drive doesnt actually connect to the accelerator.Sorry for asking daft questions.

Your best bet is to follow Mikes advice and compare your card with others that are for sale.

If you look on the other bay you can also search sold items.

But what ever you do please stop quoting possible prices  It's a definate no-no on here.

Otherwise welcome to Amibay

Hi jimbo, yes the game works without the accelerator so maybe just selling this just is a way of keeping the amiga.I recently bought some emulation disks of fleabay but im not too sure how hard it would be to get scorched actually working with them.If this was an option then leaving all the amiga/accelerator/hard drive all together would be the better option as this would leave a small space in the cupboard for womens stuff thus appeasing the boss.

I know that feeling well. Every time my partner buys something new I lose some storage space :D :D

I think i need to have a good look round the site first, maybe see if i can get a bit of advice on emulation somewhere and then decide whats gotta go:(
