I been quite happy with all my transactions over the last year, and all but one was as gift.
Amibayers are good people to buy from, and yes, life does most certainly get in the way.
Agreed, I had one problem, it was me that was the problem

Just me..
I won't do Paypal gift..
It's built into the price, or I add enough to cover the percentage.

I feel it does however drive up the costs for buyer.
I'm going to start looking into bank transfers, as am assuming it's similar idea as the old cheque.
If I am buying then I always 100% send the money as a Goods payment and pay the exrtra on the fees myself.
so I dont go near any listings which only accept bank transfers.I feel it does however drive up the costs for buyer.
So the buyer pays a few quid or less for the added protection - that's fine with me, and it's buyers choice as much as sellers.

That's like sending cash in the mail except you're sure the seller gets it. You can be damn sure you'll never get it back unless it's extremely big amounts and it's a case of real embezzling. Cross border it's also a lot more expensive!

Lately, I have decided to just "give" an extra 5% to help the seller with the paypal fees and just mark the payment honestly as 'Goods" - This way everyone is happy and if something happens, we are both covered. I look at it as a common curtisy,-even if the seller does not request it.

If I am buying then I always 100% send the money as a Goods payment and pay the exrtra on the fees myself, or if it is a small value or someone I have traded with before then I may pay via BT.
Well that's one way of looking at it![]()
I use http://ppcalc.com/ btw and don't think I've ever been off.
The funny part is that, according to this formula, the Fixed Fee becomes part of the Net Amount and is therefore also augmented by the Percentage Fee. So much for a "Fixed Fee"!
I had noticed that on assemblergames
At least you get the payment amount right. Everyone elses seems to send too little.
Ya know I'm getting a little bored of Paypal...
Would anyone like to meet in a disused airfield sometime for a transaction with a brief case? Some bikini wearing women wearing shades and some tough guys with tommy guns on the look out?
I mean, there would be no need for gift, 5% or anything. Just coolness and a bit of retro feelDon't worry, my guys only load their guns with jellybabies
