Right now I'm working on a couple Amigas for a guy that is big into sampling/mods/sequencing audio and mixing that with his new stuff. He's a young guy, which on these boards means about 40. His knowledge of Amiga is limited. His interest in the platform started about 5yrs ago with his main platforms being Mac and PC. Even if you are use to one of those platforms you can stumble around in the other to get things done. With the Amiga OS it is more difficult to jump in and get things done. He is an end user that is focused on apps. He just wants things to work.
He has both an A2000 w/TF536 and an A1200. I plan on using OS 3.2 on both to address drive size and a better/more modern user experience. What's the best version of Octamed for him? I know there is a v8 for the A600gs but I don't think that sells separately. I've seen Octamed Pro v5 and v6 then there is Octamed Sound Studio. Is SS just v7 renamed? Also, is there an OCS vs AGA issues? I would *think* not but that's why I'm asking.
Edit: Poking around and I found
OctaMED SoundStudio v1.03c was released in 1996. The internal version for this was version 7.
