echeques are a pain in the arse..

On another note.. i sold somebody a bppc. he was in new zealand. paypal held onto the money for about 10 days before giving it to me. totally out of my hands and his hands.. sort of limbo..

yeah frikin eCheque!!

I was 38 pence short in my paypal funds and as paypal had NOT charged my new creditcard the amounts for verification

I had a choice pay £1.86 + 38p to pay pal via debit card or use an echeque (first time Ii ever used one) - it was only after completing it it said 10days!!!!!

take the P to the I to the double ending S!!!!

wont do that again... it would of been quicker to do a bank funds transfer !!

LOL m8y!

Thanks for explaining the situation. I was thinking this was the reason, but didn't want to talk out of turn. ;)

Yup, and all of that time they get interest on the dosh and the chance to play the currencies market with it... crap, eh?

I just want to whine a bit about paypal, this seems like a good spot to do so ^^

It's been a couple of weeks since paypal 'limited' my account. I'm just a regular (non company) guy who collects video games and consoles, and i sell and buy quite regularly on ebay (small amounts, up to several hundred euro's per item). When you receive more then 2500 of payments in x months, your account gets limited (can't close the account, nor withdraw funds, nor spend any cash whatsoever from the account), and you are asked some documents to proove who you are (ID copy, and a copy of a bill with your name on it, with your address on it, so they can verify your address).

I thought this was a great feature, protecting me from harm, and I quite happily gave them the documents they wanted instantly, since i felt it was for my own good, and am quite happy they do monitor stuff like that.

Then stuff changed a bit, since now i'm about a month further, and am still waiting till they actually even look at the documents, let alone lift the limit. Now i'm stuck with shitloads of cash on my paypal account, and I can't do shit with it till some d**khead decides to look at my account after his lunch break and lift the limit again. Could be tomorrow, could be in half a year, god knows.

Quite annoying, if you actually want to spend it on, other useless stuff then what you just sold to get that cash ^^

I had a similar problem myself recently, I had to upgrade to business account because off all the money thats passed in and out of my account!

You know what it like, you sell to buy but to them it looks like your making shed loads of money!

Mine is all sorted now, lets hope they get your sorted soon - I did send some messages to Paypal and they answered them in good time so maybe you should send them one? Ask what the hold up is?

All the best,

Steve.

hmm, well, I don't have the gift option in my paypal details... when I brought something I was asked by the seller to add 4% to the overall amount...

I'm not sure why people are so finicky about a dollar here or there but I really wish people who were selling items would simply just raise the cost a little in include any paypal fees and then I don't have to type into my calculator $x.xx X 1.04 ;)

Honestly, if you are so worried about a 1 or 2 pounds this way to 1 or 2 euros that way... you either need to get your wife or kids out to work to earn there own cash or get a better job... :-D

Hell, go back to school ;)

Good point, i think i'll give them a ring monday to see if i can accelerate the process a bit (or upgrade, im quite happy with paypal so)

When i use paypal gift there's a big fee using a credit card.
I've found the paypal goods option always have a smaller fee for the same transaction.

Thats right, if you do not have funds in the account you can choose to pay the fee or pass it on to the seller. If you have funds in your account there is no fee.

This is bacause its treated like a normal sale (like on ebay) this means the seller pays the fee
