I received today a new IDE hard disk adapter for my Atari STE. It connects straight onto the 68000 socket and has a 44-pin and a 40-pin IDE connector. It is bootable under TOS 2.06.

Read more about it here.

Smurfs

Smurfs

bit of an interesting 'retro' find at the thrift shop today....

a bag containing 9 Smurf figurines (1970-1980)

which appear to be:

Mechanic Smurf (1970)
Jester Smurf (1976)
Conductor Papa Smurf (1977)
Torchbearer Smurf (1978 )
Hockey Smurf (1978 ) (missing hockey stick)
Footballer Smurf (1978 )
Archer Smurf (1979) (missing bow)
Hairdresser Smurf (1980)
unknown weightlifting Smurf (broken weights)

i guess i can't price-drive smurfs and tell you what they cost...but..you probably wouldn't believe me anyways (the price was in cents...err...no..i meant i was incensed at the price..yeah...that's it...)

Picked up a model 2 Saturn at the car boot sale on Sunday. Already have a model 1, but haven't had a working model 2 in a while. Fitted a region-free bios chip, 50/60hz switch and modchip while I was at it.

Then for my birthday on Monday I got an SD2IEC and a Dreamcast keyboard.

One of the Coolest PS 2 Console I have bought and yes, Blue is my fav Colour

Bought a new wheel+pedals set. A Thrustmaster Ferrari F430 Force Feedback.

I've had a Microsoft Xbox 360 wheel and pedals for a long time but I wasn't using them because with the console you pretty much have to have the thing on your lap and with PC where you have a proper desk to screw it onto, you don't have the force feedback. Therefore I decided to sell the Xbox wheel and get a proper PC wheel (with PS3 support). Of course this is no Logitech G27 or Fanatec but the F430 feels pretty solid and since it was on clearance, I decided to get it.

Hey! What is that? It looks like a game console because of the sports icons, and Atari 2600 shape but there are what look to be 1/8" phono-jacks rather than controller ports...? Would a Coleco be a good guess?

That would be a good guess but a wrong guess. Just a 'Grandstand' pong clone machine from the 70's (there's tons of them). You are right about the controller ports, they are headphone style jacks as many were back then.

Went to the carboot sale today. Not much of interest aside from the usual Playstation 1 consoles but when I was about to leave disappointed I spotted a nice looking and boxed FamiCLONE.

For less than the price of a Big Mac (on its own - not menu and no ketchup) I got a boxed MicroGenius (famiclone) console complete with AC adapter, manual, wired controller and 6 game carts.

Most of the carts were the usual 72 games in one type which actually only have 3 or 4 games and the rest being stupid hacks of the same games. Another one was some soccer game and the last one being Castlevania!

I received yesterday my first desktop Commodore, Amiga 2000 with Action Replay MK3, PC emulator card (don't know the version yet), plenty of handbooks and everything . To my surprise it was complete in box, including polys and all. Only the serial number doesn't match.

Edit: Attached an image from the corroded battery. Not bad at all, it's an easy job to remove and/or change it.

The below items was actually on a trailer yesterday, on it's way to the landfill. But I was lucky to get it instead: I got it from a former demo-scener and we had a really nice chat about old days. Nice catch, and a lot of items that I did not have in the collection:

Amiga 4000 in elbox Power Tower
Cybervision MK III 060/50
Picasso IV
Cybervisoin 64
X-surf
ISDN Master
Multiface card
Never released graphics card from Tritec: Horizon

When he found out that there still were stupid people (like me) around, he took it of the trailer and posted it on a website.

Awww, man. Sealed Zork 3.

Can't wait till it arrives, I'm excited!
