I took a raft of pictures last night as I was unsealing the box to look at the contents! The only mistake I made was not video recording it :(

Somebody over at Amiga.org has the same problem.

It looks like both of us are going to suck this one up and learn. I am really gutted this has happend as I dont want to be moaning to a guy that has been one of the hero's of my amiga world since the good old days! But both of us have clearly been giving an a1200 that does not match the details of the order.

I am starting to really get fed up with ploughing money into these amigas and not seeing any results.

NOS A1200

NOS A1200

Just received an A1200 from Petro today (the box and Amiga says A1200HD but there's no HD inside, not even a cradle). In decent condition (but not like new as there's a few marks on it and corrosion on the shield) with a nasty looking tank mouse and a black 3A PSU. It boots and works fine and even works with trackloaders as I just ran through the Sanity Arte demo without any problems, so I guess not all AT 1200s contain badly modified PC drives?

It needs a recap though ASAP as the pads have clearly already started corroding.

Edit: Contrary to ElectroBlaster, I believe that my 1200 is indeed NOS as it looks unused, same goes for the mouse and PSU. It just has a few marks here and there as it has been reworked and probably moved around several times. There's some red color on the bottom of the case which I guess comes from the plastic bag it was stored in. The barcode on the package (is it a SN?) also matches the barcode on the MB and the floppy drive.

Hey demolition, black PSU's were included with Amigakit's NOS and build to order units, you can see like mine here:

https://www.amibay.com/showthread.php?t=49148

As or Petr0's unit's the reason I wont buy one as from what I've seen they don't look like NOS to me, badly stored maybe?

It's a shame Amigakit don't have any more proper NOS ones.

I really don't want to sell mine but need the money :(

Yes, that's the same type PSU that I got with mine. The PSU is now looking good after a cleaning. The Amiga power cable was very sticky and it took a while until the paper towel stopped turning brown/black when wiping it with IPA, but I guess it was the same stuff that was on the mouse cable.

Your box is definitely in much better condition than mine, but I knew that it was scruffy so can't complain about that. :)
The shield isn't 100% since it has been reworked at some point. The HDD was removed for instance. If the shield is touched, the acid in the finger print will cause to turn black after a while if it is not cleaned off. After a cleaning I think the outside of the Amiga will look 99% new, so that's not too bad.

Also, there's no magic pack but that was also expected.

Edit: I can see that your 1200 was originally targeted Poland while mine is a Greek version. :)

I know that stuff - I've encountered it on a (definitely) NOS PAL Turbografx console. It's that oily gloop that's migrated out of the rubber/plastic on the leads after being stored untouched for years, right?

It left my house smelling like a newly-built 1990s game shop for months on end.

This doesn't seem to smell. And it was only on the Amiga side of the PSU. The 230V cable didn't have anything on it, but the two cables probably have different manufacturers so doesn't contain the same.

Oh, huh, maybe it's different, then... The stuff I encountered smelled VERY strongly of new plastic.

Received my NOS A1200 from Petro late last week (to add to the list on this thread :-)).

Box was a bit tatty (expected and noted in correspondence with Petro beforehand), box insides were packed well and the cables needed a wipe down with a baby wipe. A1200 (originally marked for France) was in good shape and the insides appear in good condition (includes HD cradle etc.), although some finger prints on the metal casing I'll need to clean up. Apart from that, booted 1st time (minus the 3.1 30s IDE boot delay which I learnt about via Google :-)).

Have put a 6G HD and a Elbox 4MB Ram card in and is working a treat. All in all a positive experience

Feel sorry for the guys whose rigs are not as expected.

Finally managed to get a US A1000 I bought off of the other bay a little while back working by plumbing in of a working 110v PSU courtesy of Tajmaster (cheers mate ).

Started 1st time <phew> with a KS1.3 disk and booted into WB1.3 no trouble using a 1084. Well pleased I own a working model, as I never managed to own one back in the day.

Lookin good matey!! :D:thumbsup:

All trust is gone! Petro say im the only one who complained!

That's simply a lie. I have someones A1200 here that got a non working one. After lots of complaining he got a replacement board, which isn't working either. (Crashes after 30mins or so).
And there is someone else here in Holland that got a non working one, same deal. Motherboard dead, but he replaced it himself.

So, that makes at least two other which have complained, and that's from Holland alone!

I bought a really awesome japanese lunchbox. 3 tier!
That's a really nice box. Now you just need some good food to fill it with.

(I'm quite fond of the balance from putting various things into bento lunches, myself, even if I don't always put in proper Japanese food. I have a two-compartment single-tier box, myself. :p)

Really sorry for the double-post! Will this get merged with my previous one, or has too great a time passed for that? (EDIT: Apparently it's the latter. :p)

I received the Mega Drive version of Lemmings in the post today (got it on EvilBay for precisely peanuts, including postage). It's a version of the game that, for some reason, I didn't have, in spite of the fact that it's the only conversion which has such a huge number of unique levels exclusive to it. I've been missing out!

One of my creations has taken a shine to it, though. I don't know if or when I'll get it back.

Just got 2 Amiga 600 computers for very cheap :D
Unable to test them ATM but the boards look visually in good condition.
