i think i will be doing my keyboard as it will take a lot of bas time.. (would like him to do it but he is a busy chap)

he is replacing my sid chip which i got from Amibay, seeing if it can be converted to PAL (its NTSC) I will keep the PSU 110v and see why it randomly crashes. if its too much of a task (money vs time) it will be scrapped for parts.

c64's are easy to convert to pal if you have the parts, not sure what the tod would be like with a 110 volt supply though

Thought I would post this.

bought spares/ repair for pocket change.

soldered 3.14a fuse had blown due to speaker shorting on the pcb.

soldered a new fuse, repaired the speaker (hate being old so much squinting to even see the wire)

not a bad picture, the camera makes it looked blurred but its not. my camera was focused on the Namco TV Game.

:D

good find! that has such a good feel to it compared to other tv games - love it! wouldn't mind an amiga joystick the same

Wow, that's expensive. You should consider using low cost low-profile ZIF sockets like these: http://www.reichelt.de/Testsockel/N...&LA=2&ARTICLE=13450&GROUPID=3217&artnr=NIF+28
Especially if you're not going to be swapping chips every 5 minutes.

Bryce.

Those look nice. I'll order those the next time and install the other ones to my IC test motherboard.

My latest find:
Sony Trinitron SSM-14N1E monitor with mono audio and Y/C inputs. Perfect pair for a C64C.

I just picked up some old handheld and desktop games. I don't usually go for these but they were too much to resist for nothing. :thumbsup2:

Finally got one of these for my A3000.

You may not be interested in paper, but I really enjoy completing a package for my machines.

I've started collecting one of each camera I've owned. Yeah, my therapist thinks it's odd too.

Just bought this little beast. It was the first camera I ever owned. I have many photos from the original and can't wait to clean this one up.

I discovered this at a local garage sale. Not a computer related item but certainly different. It's in amazing condition considering it was user-assembled in about 1964.

Picked up a MailBug e-mail appliance from the thrift store today. Not because I actually have any intention of using it, but because it got me a very nice little compact keyboard with full-size keys and an 80x8 character LCD display for a homebrew portable-computer project I've been scheming up...that and a 64KB EEPROM.

Got this from the recent kickstarter project about Dizzy/Oliver twins. Is signed by them too!!!! :-)

Just need to get myself a NTSC NES now!!!

Just a thrift shop day, hadn't found too much last couple of times...still not much in the way of vintage/retro computing or console stuff... (and I am no longer very hopeful)

but a few interesting things this time anyways, as far as I am concerned - any day you find 5 'Tintins' it's a good day...

Toys/Games

The Last Spike boardgame (Gamma Two, 1976)
King's Cribbage game (CoCoCo, 1999) (unused - tiles still in original plastic bag)
Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness, boxed (Blizzard, 1996) MSDOS/W3.1/W95
Warcraft II: Beyond the Dark Portal expansion, boxed (Blizzard, 1996) MSDOS/W3.1/W95
Luke Skywalker's Desert Sport Skiff (PotF) (Kenner, 1996) (in original packaging)

Books

Tintin - King Ottokar's Sceptre (Methuen, 1976)
Tintin - The Seven Crystal Balls (Magnet, 1983)
Tintin - Prisoners of the Sun (Magnet, 1981)
Tintin - Destination Moon (Magnet, 1988 )
Tintin - Tintin in Tibet (Magnet, 1985)
FF#4 - Creature of Havoc (Wizard, 2002)
Micro Adventure #1 - Space Attack (Scholastic, 1984) (found on a previous trip, these were interesting little books which included basic programs for the computers of the day which went along with the story)

Other

NEC 1.44MB USB Floppy Disk Drive
Maxell MF2HD 1.44MB Floppy Disks (60) (sealed) (found on a previous trip)

Darn you! You got me looking for old Tintin books. :)

I did find a nice 64C on Craigslist, and when I contacted the guy, he asked me if I would be interested in a TI99/4A (complete with expansion box, and a boat load of tapes, etc). So why not? :)

Looking through one of the boxes today I found a binder that he included with about 20 TI magazines from the '80's. Pretty cool. :)

I've always liked the TI-99, I have 2 myself (one in orig. box), never did get a tape drive for them though....but I have a few carts anyways. (also lacking a working drive for my Atari 600XL and 800XL)...my best friend got one, I think for Christmas '81 (might have been his b/d in '82)...to that point I'd only ever seen the VIC20 and the Apple IIs our school had gotten, so it was absolutely fantastic. (the C64 didn't exist yet)

took a run down to the thrift shops down south yesterday (NE on wed.)...a few bits and pieces, but nothing very exciting...

Magic the Gathering Starter Gift Set (WotC, 1999) (Starter 1999) (appears to be complete, with a few extra cards as well, hardly played) - had a better look through this one, entirely complete + 2 additional starter decks (Blinding Fury (white) & Impaler (green)) + 3 opened boosters (15+15+8 ) + some cards that were either bought or given (quite well used) about 275-280 cards all told. (addtionally about 40 sleeves that someones 'play-deck' is in + 10 extra blue scoring beads)
2 issues of CARtoons magazine from 1991
a few Transformers toys from the newer movies (2007ish) (Wreckage, Blackout, Star Scream, Mudflap & Overcast)
a few Star Wars Action Fleet ships (1995) (2x A-Wings, Snowspeeder, B-Wing (missing 1 foil unfortunately))
Logitech MX-5500 bluetooth keyboard (tested working with my smartphone and the Frodo C64 emulator )
Pelouze model 5055 rate programmable digital postage scale (+power adapter)

Might be able to help with a working (tape or disk) drive for your Ataris, SaviorX.
Let me know if you're in the hunt for one...mind, postage to Canada could be a tad steep...
Cheers and enjoy that collection!
