I know that in some old 5.25" drives I've used a bad disk can spread loose magnetic coating and other gunk on the read head and cause read errors even on good disks. I don't know if that happens with 3.5" disks, but if you don't have any other way to resurrect the drive, you might try what I do in those situations and clean the head with a cotton swab and low-grade rubbing alcohol.
Yeah I have been planning on doing that for ages but I can't get into the bloody drive for the 600.
Thing is it doesn't even attempt to read them properly anymore, just clicks 2 or 3 times and returns to the floppy animation screen (yes I really need to get hold of a WB 2.05 Install disk :roll:).

Which ROM this little baby have? Amount of memory?

BTW: even the Workbench disks (any Workbench disk!) can make this little fellow boot.

Picked up today :)

is the screen on the "AST Premium Exec 386SX/20 Model 63v" a color one? If so, it would be nice for some old-school apogee/epic shareware madness!!!

It's a B/W LCD, but there is a VGA connector too, for monitors, so it should give colors, hmm, i must test it now :)

Today I ran into two Access Systems!! Sorry for the picture quality, they're taken with my iPhone. When I've cleaned them I'll whip out the Nikon and do a proper photoshoot :)

Wow! Two boards!

Just please remove the batteries before they do their stuff?

@Tahoe: OMG! You have found a rare treasure there! :thumbsup:
I hope to see them in action working for you sometime...:)
And compared to some other pictures i have seen of such boards, these must be very early protos!

@Tahoe

wow... 2 of them.... have you got plans for both?

Matt from Amiga Kit had a couple, he asked me to make an offer... I chickened out.... I didn't want to insult him LOL

Today's latest additions to the collection:

zorrocards.jpg

From top to bottom:

  • MultiVision 2000 flicker fixer/scandoubler
  • X-surf network card
  • Fastlane Z3 SCSI card
  • Sunrize industries AD1012 (Sound card?)

Andy, that's a real lucky catch you got there! :) Yes, the AD1012 is a sound card, and a mighty good one at it! I hope you got the accompanying software too, them folks at Sunrize did great job on the Studio program!!

Congrats, Andy. Nice catch.

I finally received my A3000!:woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot:

Pictures after I finish to hack it to boot into Workbench.

Heather: Good one. I wanted to order that and the Atari 5200 one. I need to try the A/V mod on my Coleco first.

Awesome! I love the A3000, it's such a beautiful little machine. I really need to add one to my collection (It would also make a nice home for the spare Zorro cards I now have!)

It's definitely worth the money. The only bad thing is that it only holds 128 roms. I prefer flash card based solutions because you can store more. :)

I give it two thumbs up! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Ok il confess, got this lot from a Sunday car-boot sale:

Think the only thing missing in the picture was a Cheetah Joystick Cart. :)

P.s. And yes, that box really is full of Speccy games and a few manuals. :ninja:

@AndyLandy Are you going for a complete setup for the A2000? It's nice what you've sourced... I don't tend to fill it up and expand it at all, since I am only after the end product expanded=A4000, I like amiga a lot, but one main machine, one legacy machine = STOP

I have a local contact in need of cash, he has a lot of A2000 cards so if you need anything willing to negotiate a little... Of course reasonable pricing:D He did not show up overhere or anywhere else...:):thumbsup: (no internet)

I am going to hijack this post, but I woul'd like the front and the back of that "claimed" flat panel monitor that you've got.. i like yiamha a lot, but I am using old scool trinitron technology= it does not work with amiga, only some modes..
