@SDG: I found a relatively easy way to test a capacitor. If you have a can of air, spray it onto the capacitor so that it developes "frost" on the capacitor's surface and "boils" away. You should smell the rotten fish, if it has leaked.

Not sure if this was exactly what you were after. A dry or otherwise faulty capacitor should affect the output voltage.

Thanks guys! I should probably just go ahead and replace all of them because they will eventually need replacing anyways.

That PET is utterly awesome. That was the first computer I used way back in school.

/me wipes away a nostalgic tear.

Wavey lines? First thing I would check is the PSU, smoothing caps and bridge recitifier. Handy thing about PETs is a nice, simple linear PSU design. Simple, easy to test and oh so cheap to repair.

CBM cassette drives *always* need the wonk angle adjusting slightly, it's part of their charm. :)

Just picked this one up. A bit pricey, but hope it's worth it:thumbsup:

I decided to self repair/recap my A4000D, A1200 & A600 spare mobos  (I'm praying..... ).

Of course I have made a lot of practices soldering & desoldering ICs, sockets, caps, etc...

Now I think I'm ready to start with my lovely Amiga Hardware (crossing all fingers) :)

I'm just waiting my recently purchased soldering/desoldering SMD tweezers (thanks a lot Johnim  ) and some 72 pin SIMM sockets.....

If I have time I will open some threads when I start the jobs....

Finally got myself an Indivision for my A4000...

Also got one Indi MKII for A1200 pre-ordered as well as one MKII for A4000 (a spare won't hurt ;))

Thanks Uncle_Meat! I may pick your brain once I get a chance to start working on it. :)

As for something new... I bought new furniture for my living room today. I also bought my first pistol, a 9mm Glock 26. I know people sometimes don't understand Americans with their guns. I purchased this for shooting paper targets... and to protect my retro collection.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
