back in 1984-85 I had the SX64 sound module and keyboard, I got the optional midi cart and at the time for me the brilliant CZ101, loved it but found its low polyphony a bit of a grind. but hey that's all I could afford saving up my milk round each week and leaving payments at a Liverpool music shop until it was paid for, took me months to save up and buy it :)
Funny you should mention...

Casio CZ-1000
Basically the CZ-101 with full-sized keys (but irritatingly, with the real buttons replaced with membrane buttons!) I walked into Music-Go-Round this afternoon to see if they'd gotten anything interesting in, and they had this super-cheap "as-is," with a flight case no less! It's in great shape and works fine. I haven't gotten to play around with it much yet, but I'm impressed with the sound - it's grittier and brighter than Yamaha FM, and thanks to the multiple operator waveforms it gets some impressive sounds for just two operators per voice. Not a bad deal :D

memories :)

the only thing is the 8 single not poly, with 2 voices per sound that's down to 4 note. the only limiting factor, I wish at the time it had more poly.

I am VERY unhappy at the moment :(

This A1200 is in a right mess. It is filthy, shows the signs of usage.

Two keys were broken off and the springs look like somebody has stretched them.

The rubber feet look like all my other used 1200's

There is a missing screw on the internal drive bracket that holds the drive down.

The board is a rev 2B and it has two weeping caps and one that looks like it was replaced.

The trapdoor cover was off and is filthy and scuffed to hell.

The internal drive cage is missing.

The box does not match the serial numbers and is rougth as hell.

The top cover badge is one ive never seen before: A1200 HD?

So all in all, I thought this was going to be a very clean unused a1200 but so far nothing suggests that at all.

Oh and the psu looks like a CD32 unit?

EDIT: The picture I got in the email, the whole package looks better than what I have here?

Sounds like you've been had. Did you get it directly from this Petro guy? Whoever that guy was...

Where do you think? Petro :( Suppose to be NOS.

Ok I knew the box might be a bit off but the A1200 itself. Some of my old scabby a1200's are in better condition.

To say I am wee'd off is an understatement! I am now assuming this unit might be faulty. It just looks like I was rooked :(

EDIT: Rust under the keyboard, memory cover has been removed and put back. RF screw is almost out of its hole thing. Case is not even signed!

EDIT2: I got proper documents from Power Service GMBH here! Money was wired to Petro Tyschtschenko's account.

I'm afraid I have no idea who or what Petro is, so this is going over my head a bit... Sounds like a raw deal, at any rate - I hope you can get it sorted out!

Petro Tyschtschenko. I have genuine Power Service paperwork here aswell.

I am starting to feel like I was rooked by somebody. The whole thing checked out beforehand, checked all the companies details aswell.

EDIT: Just sussed out the picture of the A1200 they sent me turns out to be laid out exactly the same as one sold to somebody else over at amiga.org but taken at a different angle. I can live with a cruddy box and missing bits but not a scabby a1200 that looks no better than what I have here. Wishing I never bothered now.

EDIT2: Looks like somebody else has the same snags as me over at Amiga.org. They have a few more issue's than me tho! Cracked psu on top of the same luck I had. I will stop moaning aswell as I am ruining this thread :(

Yes it sucks big time! Sucks even more as there is no comeback by the looks of it so im shafted. I will be forced to sink some money into it, make sure it works 100% and will probably shift it on. Sounds bad but if I make sure the caps are ok, new keyboard and some fresh screws should mean its ok. It has left a bad taste in my mouth and I will not be buying nos amiga's again.

Why don't you contact him?

If It's clearly not NOS then it could be an error on his part and not deliberate.

I have emailed him. Pains me as I dont want to annoy the bloke but I am just not happy with what I got! I knew 100% the box and other bits werent going to be perfect but I was expecting the amiga itself to be good condition wise.

Have not told the missus yet! She will do her nut lol.

Give Petro a chance to sort it out, his dealings with the community have been above board to date and I would expect him redress the situation.

Did you get accessories/software pack with them?

I did have a psu included and mouse and component cable.
However the cables are dirty brown with whatever is on there, like most of also had. Mouse it self is pretty white, so I could solder another lead to it.
Also included was a pack of 3.1 original disks.

Unless someone knows how to get that brown stuff off, the psu will fly into the container very soon.

@Buzzfuzz the A1200 looks great, shame the box is a bit scuffed :(

I really don't care about the box, it's nice to have a good box, and I do have a perfect one, but as soon as I have my own place, I will frame the front of the boxes.

I get the appeal of having a boxed edition, but use or lose it as they would say :-D

I'm happy it hasn't got any damage, the only thing is that the floppy drive wasn't working, but I guess it didn't have the Escom fix, but no worries as I said to Petro, I even had the exact same drive as spare around.

It's really white and inside is a 1D4 board, which looks new, even after 3 hours sitting idle in Workbench I didn't see any caps looking funny or something dying.

I used IPA on paper towels to get the gunk off the cables and everything came up perfectly (including removing his dig from the top), here's mine:

All trust is gone! Petro say im the only one who complained!

Oh well so not much has changed then, been stiffed by the looks of it.

If you take a reasonable approach to him I'm sure he will be reasonable with you - his track record so far is spotless, perhaps if you post pics if your original and his unit together and give them to him as proof also that might help?

Ps, in the pics you send Petro, make sure you include serial numbers as proof of origin (surely he has recorded these?).
