I got three ZTX213 transistors today. :) Don't actually need them at the moment as the BC557 seems to do the job. It's good to have some ZTX651s and ZTX213s at hand. You never know, when you're going to need them. :)

^ Nice haul, there!

I just wanted to say, I highly recommend picking up Alien Crush. It's an excellent pinball game for the platform, and one of the best I've encountered on any system. Some say it's not quite as good as its sequel, Devil's Crush, but personally I prefer the atmosphere, music, mini-games, and flick-screen nature of Alien Crush.

Doraemon Meikyuu Daisakusen (the Japanese version of Cratermaze) is a fun diversion, too.

Some weird Frankenstein machine with internal ROM box, OS switcher, USB Mouse and tape input sockets

Just got my 15th C64. Found it locally for a decent price. Tested with diagnostics cart and works 100%.
I also needed the cassette port adapter for other similar drives.

A nice man from UPS brought me a late Easter present...

big box of games, utils and under them was a 4000/30 with a very poorly motherboard which needs a bath until I can send it away for the TLC it so desperately needs.

What diagnostics cart did you use? Is this something I can flash onto my EasyFlash 3?

'Stuff' just got quite a bit easier! hakko 808 desoldering gun, 4 extra nozzles of different sizes and a stand for it. will go nice next to my hakko temp controlled iron.

Found an internal Iomega Zip IDE 250 drive from Tramel today, practically for free. Well actually I found it earlier already but didn't pick it up as I thought it would cost more and I didn't have any cash on me then. You can imagine how surprised I was, when it was like 10 to 15 times cheaper than I had expected. It came with the original 5,25" adapter bay. I'd really liked to install it on my A4000 but I'd need the normal height Chinon 357 instead of the 1½ height that I have. Does any other retro computer have support for the Iomega Zip?

So there's an old couple at my church, and the husband is an old IT guy and computer hobbyist. They're going to be moving out-of-state in the not-too-distant future, and we got to talking and they offered to let me have his collection, which would save them the trouble of moving or getting rid of it. They came by yesterday afternoon with a pickup bed full of things:

One Kaypro 2X,

One Vector 4,

♫ And a partridge in a pear tree... ♪

(okay, not really.)

I also got an assortment of peripherals, displays, manuals, and software for all of the above, including a nifty-looking Kaypro-branded daisy-wheel printer. I haven't had nearly as much time to play with all of it as I'd like, on account of a hectic short-notice project at work, but the Kaypro at least is working fine, and everything seems to be in pretty great shape. The one issue I've encountered so far is that the Vector 4 doesn't want to boot off its internal hard disk - when I select "[W]inchester boot" from the boot menu, it accesses the disk and then drops right back to the boot menu. Hopefully I can get it all up and running, though...

Yeah :D It's a shame Commodore never did anything else in the style of the B128/CBM-II, I love that sexy '60s appliance styling :)

Mine's a Xytronic LF-9000, and it's okay... Let us know what you think of yours.

it is awesome! its like magic, put the nozel down, hit button. solder gone. hakko make great geat.

Great! My nozzle was a hair too big for the C64's pads on the chips that I was recently pulling, forcing me to fall back to desoldering wick and rosin paste (but it went quickly enough). Let us know if it gives you any trouble with clogging (mine does).

This is the coolest looking data recorder at least in my books! :)

It's a Philips NMS1515, works on both batteries and DC and is logic driven. I have a suitable cable for it in MSX but should make one for Amstrad too.

My SD2IEC arrived from Spain today, my CNC router bits from China, and my C64 diagnostic ROM (with loopback cables) came in from Texas today.

Got these last week in a yard sale, the yellowest A500 has a bad floppy drive, will replace it to test the rest. The other A500 is in great condition, no yellowing, everything works great, it is like new. Nothing great on the included floppies, and almost all of them are not working anymore. The other is an Atari 65XE, with many games on cartridge. All are NTSC models.

I get SO excited when I find these stuff "in the wild"!
