Hi Heather,

Seems my pm to you didn't make it through. It's a bit of a catch-22 as I registered this account in order to order a FE, but since my account is brand new, I'm not allowed to pm people on AmiBay other than staff (which I assumed you were). It's a site policy thing.

Oh well. If there's any boards left, I'd still be very happy to buy one.

I'll try to pm you again. And see if it works now.

I am staff so I wonder why your post didn't go through. Hmm...

Well, PM has been received and I've sent you payment information. You got the last one!

This batch is sold out. Keep an eye on the thread for updates while I finish prepping kits and fully assembled units for shipment. :)

Thanks everyone for helping to make this happen!

Heather

Everyone,

The EEPROMs are held up in customs. :( While I'm waiting for them, I've been working on the labels and assembling devices. Here are the label options! One is for the standard VIC-20 shell and the other two are for COREi64's case.

Standard Shell:

COREi64 Shell with DIP Cutout:

COREi64 Shell no Cutout:

I'm also going to create another label for the standard shell with cutouts for the DIN connectors.

If you ordered a FE3 then please send me a PM letting me know which label you want! :)

Thanks!

Heather

Payment received! Thanks!

Still waiting on EEPROMs. I'm ready to order more and just take the loss if I can get them quickly. Does anyone know of a good source for AM29F040B-90PC EEPROMs in the USA?

Thanks!

Heather

*EDIT* Just ordered from a different supplier. Unfortunately they are from China but I'll get the EEPROMs one way or another.

Hey everyone!

Here’s a quick update. I finally received the EEPROMs (Hurray!) and have tested some of the fully assembled units. Everything is looking good. I also received the custom case from COREi64 so I can finish tweaking the label for that. :)

Next Steps:

1. Send survey to users who have not yet specified which label they want
2. Finish label design and produce them
3. Program EEPROMs
4. Finish packaging kits
5. Finish fully assembled devices
6. Ship

I know there are some postal system issues happening right now in Europe. Please let me know if you want me to delay your shipment until after these issues have been resolved.

Thanks for your patience!

Heather

For anyone interested, I'm taking names for people who want to get one of these. Once I have enough interest from around 13 people, I'll post a new pre-order thread and begin taking orders. Including Terppa, I have 5 people so far. I already have PCBs for another batch and most of the other work is done at this point so it will be a much faster turnaround on those.

OK. The FE3 label for COREi64's case is pretty much done. Here it is on the case he sent to me. Sorry about the poor lighting in the pics. :)

There are a few small adjustments I'm going to make to ease application but the pictures pretty much show the final result. I bought a die cutting machine specifically for this project and it's working beautifully. Your label will be pre-cut so you can just peel and stick.

I've had a lot of queries about getting both labels. One label is included with your original purchase but I will sell additional labels of either type for $1 each. Just send a PayPal Gift payment to the address I already sent you along with the number and style of label you want (Original Case or COREi64 Case).

Be aware that these are vinyl laser printed stickers. Since they are not professionally printed, they are not thick. I have found that these stickers are durable and wear quite well so that's why I'm continuing to use them. With the die cutting machine, they look quite professional.

Great Job Heather!

I think they look awesome.

Very excited to complete this project.

Thanks for the positive feedback! COREi64 has a gold color material that I think would look amazing with this label. Shipping should start the first week of the new year!

Hi everyone!!!

All the kits are ready to go and all the assembled units have been assembled, tested, and are ready to ship! I'm waiting on the label materials, which should arrive Tuesday, then I'll finish creating those and begin shipping! :D

Speaking of the label, I have the COREi64 case label changes complete. They are small changes but they make it fit the case much better. I'm very happy with how it all turned out.

I'll send tracking information and customs information when your package ships.

Heather

Thanks for the update Heather. Have a happy new year!

Awesome Project, thanks Heather :)

Could i have a label for the std case with cut outs for the DIN sockets please :)

Bas :)

Hi Bas!

I don't have a standard label with a cutout so you'll get a standard label. I don't have a standard VIC-20 cartridge shell that I can cut up so I can't figure out where the hole lines up on the label. Once you have the case modified, you can apply the label and cut out the section for the holes.

If I can get a VIC-20 shell to cut up then I'll make a new label and make it available for download.

Big Hugs!

Heather
