Just to update what's going on :
videofx order has been shipped..
Jim_Oregon order has been shipped.
Hi guys, I have only two customers orders to send out in the next few days so I am ready to take on more orders this week.
Thank you guys, good to be back
A4000 bottom line:
I keep getting requests to build a4000 roms, I REALLY wish I could do it but It's so risky, without the means to test as the HI/LO differ to the a1200 it's difficult to test if the board was successfully soldered, I have at times when building the 32-bit boards for the a1200 the process went 100% but for some reason the voltage was wrong 2-3 not 5v.
The problem is it could possibly be a short, bad flash chip, bad PCB, bad PIC, bad resistor, pins not making good contact, etc etc and this is the sort of mysterious problems that can happen, despite spending hours trying to figure it out the cause behind those issues it has been fruitless and in the end I had to build a 2nd for the a1200, it's that sort of experience that tells me it would be a bad idea to blindly send an a4000 dual or quad rom untested.
Resolutions:
A friend of mine want's me to populate an a4k board with his damaged a4k board components, in the future this may give me a week or two opportunity to hash out a4k roms for you guys. I will keep you all updated if that eventually happens. Alternative It is possible to swap the hi/lo with a carrier board, I'll look into possibly making one of these over the next month.
