Hi All...got my Prelude Remake and Mpegit and installed it.....and Mpegit Library in Libs:MHI. Also the Prelude.library v 6.4.

Right I would like to make the most of the Card.....so I would like To know what Tricks and Tips there may be....Amiga Audio Pass-though....AHI settings etc...I see there an Audio pass-through Module on Aminet that uses "loadmodule" to enable Pass-though....and AHI drivers to give Prelude Audio Modes etc.....are these any good....?

The main things I found are

Amiga Amp Visuals no longer work when using Mpegit.

EaglePlayer does not play through Prelude if the Prelude AHI is used.

I have one set of speakers....plugged into the Bottom output on the card....What input do I plug the "Amiga Audio" into....?

Thanks for the Reply`s

Mark

hi , yes you can link the amiga audio output to the input of the prelude card , and you can use the input also when you will recoard a song from lp , or other player's

See torsti76's list of recommendations in the first post: https://www.amibay.com/threads/prelude-zorro-ii-and-mpeg-it-replicas.2439653/
The newest AmigaAmp (3.33 as of writing) is fixed so you don't need to use the older 3.31 version.

Viewed from the back side of the computer, from left to right the jacks are: Aux1, Line-In, Out, Mic-In. These are also printed on the PCB near the jacks.
Internally Aux1 is connected to the Mpeg-IT module so don't connect anything there. Connect the Amiga native output to Line-in and Out to speakers/amp. Run the Prelude mixer after rebooting to enable the inputs and outputs.

The visualization does not work because the card is doing the audio decompression and output. The uncompressed data is not available back to the player for visualization.

Awesome thank you....I just get inpatient when setting things up lol

All working nicely now.....Amiga passthrough works great...Mpegit too....Love the Prelude Mixer....As I have 800+ mips (pistorm) I had AmigaAmp and mpegit decoding and EaglePlayer mpega.libary decoding at the same time lol and can fade between the two.

I'm going to tag onto this thread rather than opening another one:
I also got a Prelude ZII Replika form here on Amibay and have a strange problem I'm wondering if anyone has seen:

When opening AmigaAmp 3.33 with AHI 4.18 and the paula ++ mode drivers I can playback MP3 files on my A2000/68060 setup.
If I open up AHI in prefs and configure device 0 and 1 to use the prelude in one of the stereo ++ modes and save both.
After opening AmigaAmp, I immediately get an error similar to: "Can't open AHI.DEVICE, make sure you have at least AHI 4 or higher installed"
Music cannot be played.

-Okay - editing before I save -

Apparently AHI USR 6.x may be needed for the above scenario to work right. I found and manually moved AHI 6 files over the AHI 4 installation and now I can play 16 and 24 bit prelude AHI audio.

sounds fun....I`m using AHI 4.18....I updated to AHI 6.x Awhile ago but could not get it to play nice...but that was before I got my prelude.....I have it running nice on my Pistorm now.....I might make a backup of my Boot partition and then try AHI 6.x. Also are you using Mpegit ? and the Mpegit.library..?

Yes to mpegit and the library. On an 060 I was able to brute force play mp3 files with AHI, or go into Amiga amp and direct it to the mpegit and that plays with no overhead.

So was it worth updating to AHI V6.x ?

Upgrading to AHI USR 6 was the only thing that allowed me to get past the "Can't open AHI.DEVICE, make sure you have at least AHI 4 or higher installed"
There's probably a more elegant way to resolve this if keeping V4 is important, but long searching all the forums didn't help.
So far in limited testing AHI6 has been fine for me. I've used it for AmigaAmp and Exult.

I had this too when I first setup the machine but I don't anymore. One worry I had was that the board I got is a bit curved and that plus the extra height of the MPEGIt made it come dangerously close to touching the Zorro II card in the slot next to it. My fear was that there might have been a short.

A little Update.....My Mpegit works...then dont....then works for a few days then don't lol So that will go back to the Builder for testing.

I think I have EaglePlayer playing through the prelude AHI Unit 0 16bit stereo ++ using AHI v4.18....Anybody got any experience with AHI settings...care to share there AHI.config file....?

I have the exact same problem since a couple of days ... suddenly hangs while playing and makes this weird sound. For no good reason.

All I can think off is reverting back to AmigaAmp 3.31 since it started occurinf after upgrading to the latest CafeineOS with 3.33

Right.....so far I can't get prelude AHI to work....With EaglePlayer v2.06 AHI amp....when you select the one and only "prelude" AHI mode 16 bit no sound output....sometimes a get a bit of sound but then fade to noise.....like a tv that's not tuned in.

My mpegit works for a hour or so then goes the same way just noise.....I unplugged the floppy power cable to the RPI drive and plugged it back into the Z-500 sorrow adapter....this made it a bit better for a short time....so......I think it might be a psu issue somehow.....My heavy type A500 psu seems to work OK....My Meanwell 65B has never worked very well.....my modded PC psu will power up my A1200 Pistorm32 ok but not my A500+ Pistorm....lol I did have a Goliath psu but that died lol...so I need a New psu ?

You only have one audio mode ? I also have my doubt being the psu be a problem. I have similar problems and an original refurbished psu in my 2k and other hardware that works just fine.
