I hope these serious issues have a positive outcome, Franck's a really good guy.
I wish, though, that he'd just release the gerbers and open source the project, so that others who are able to can duplicate his product, much like what John Hertell has done.

If he free or not I think is not the issue here.
What is important is some feedback and when is going to start with the orders again

I'm sorry but if someone is having real world issues/problems I think the last thing on their mind would be the Amiga world taking preference

First of all, please, understand that this project is done during my spare time. I'm not a businessman... Thanks a lot!

Here is the launching of the Megachip project for the A500. The particularity of this version is the connection method.
Habitually, the Megachip is plugged in the PLCC support of the AGNUS chip of the Amiga motherboard.
To connect this new version, the PLCC support of the motherboard must be desoldered.

To intall the Megachip, two solutions:
- The Megachip is soldered directly onto the motherboard. This solution allow you to install an accelerator board in your A500!
- The Megachip is plugged onto a 84 pin PGA socket which is soldered on the motherboard. With this solution, the Megachip isn't soldered on the motherboard.
But the use of an accelerator is not possible due to the height of the Megachip.

The use of the Megachip works fine in an A500 rev6. I actually don't know if it's possible to use it on other revision of A500. I have to take a look at the pinout of the AGNUS used on older revision of the A500.

The Megachip will be delivered with all components, except the FAT AGNUS chip.

The amount (excluding shipping cost):

From now, I'm forced to accept payment only as GIFT. I'm sorry, but if you're from a country where paypal doesn't accept GIFT transfert, I will not able to accept your interest. I really sorry for the inconvenience.

- As kit: 30€. This will include the PCB, the components and the 84 pins.
- Assembled (without FAT AGNUS): 40€. If you are not able to solder the FAT AGNUS chip, you will have the possibility to send it to me. I'll solder it for you. The megachip will be tested before the shipment.

The amount could be lower if enough people declare their interest. In fact, the higher the number of PCBs manufactured, the lower the unit price.

For the beginning, I have ten PCB available. Five of them are available here, the other five boards will be available for members of an another Amiga forum.
I have the components to assemble four Megachip boards.
I have ordered more RAM and GAL chips for the assembling of a total of 20 more megachips. I'm waiting for them.

For this first mini launching, you can declare your interest for only one board. Like that, more people will have the possibility to own a Megachip.

One Megachip has been reserved by piacc64, one by mattsoft, and one by keith1. Actually, two boards available if piacc64, mattsoft and keith1 confirm their interest.
So, for now, only two PCB are available. But, even if they are all reserved, you can declare your interest for the next production of PCBs.


Which AGNUS do you need?

The board is designed for the AGNUS 8375. It has been tested with the revision 390544-01 (PAL). As the pinout of all 8375 revisions are the same, the Megachip should run with all of them. List below from a post of fordav1:

No i don´t payed already and if i declare interest is because i whant now not in the next year.
Appart from that everybody has personal problems and is not because of that ,i answer to my commitments.
if i can take projects ahead i answer if not i just say not available anymore simple as that.

Dear ramparts, please don't forget - Tuxbar makes these boards as a hobby project, these are built on demand, this isn't a commercial stuff...
If You need this expansion as fast as possible, maybe You should open a "Wanted" topic!?
i am sure, You'll find a person who will offer it to You (because of financial problems, family decisions or any other reason)...

First of all, all my apologies for my long absence due to some personal reasons (surgery of my wife and important changes in my professional life).
I know that there were some PM posted here. I'll try to read all of them. But, a friend of mine has let me know that someone here has said that I should give the source files of my projects. Yes, I could. But no, I'm not going to give them. No way. And I'm going to explain why with a simple and purely fictive example (as they say in cinema production!).

Once upon a time, a cool guy who developped a really cool board for the coolest computer of the world. Because he is a very cool guy, he decided to upload the source files of his project on his prefered forum to allow everybody to make this really cool board by themself.
But, it was not counting on the venality of a dark member of the forum who began to produce this (really cool, yes, yes!) board to make a maximum of money.

Do you find this situation logical?No? Me too. Evidently and fortunately, this sad story is a pure fiction. Something like that wouldn't be possible here, where the Jedis (moderators) of Amibay are ensuring the protection of the members' passion.

About the Megachip for the A500, I have tested to route a version for using a hole-PLCC socket. I don't like the result. I'll stay onto the smd version of this board.

About the Megachip for the A2000, I have produced some pcb. I have assembled one of them (with a really professional attention...). I can annonce here that this version works perfectly!

For this version I have found the high quality PLCC socket (3M) for a very good price. I have bought 57 pieces... all the stock of the seller.

Somebody, who is member of Amibay, has contacted me on my email to proposed me some AGNUS chips also for an interesting amount (15€/piece). As usually, I'll make no profit on them. Perhaps I'll have to count the custom taxe if I can't avoid it. I should have between 40 to 50 pieces. I want here to thanks a lot this member for his kindness.
It's not the last revision, but it's a really better price than the ones proposed by a dark member here who has contacted me by PM to proposed me his "secret" stock as he said for the really friendly price of around 30€/piece... Voilà voilà.

I have to verify, but the A2000 version should be sold assembled for the same price as the A500 version. Always low price to be accessible for everyone! High price doesn't mean professional quality, and low price doesn't mean amateur quality.

Again, sorry for this long silent, I would have preferred it to be otherwise.
