I read that you've to solder the MegaChip (or PGA socket) to the A500 motherboard yourself.
Why oh why?? :crying: I, and most people, can't do it. I'm not a soldering wizard.
Why not make the MegaChip with the "regular" male PLCC socket? I used to have one and it
was firmly attached to the Agnus socket. No problem.
I hope the A2000 version has the male PLCC socket attached to it, so that more people without
soldering skills can enjoy it.

Where can you get male PLCC sockets today?
You have so many contact problems with these sockets so the best solution is to solder the adapter on the mainboard.

You can get male PLCC sockets right HERE
I don't know if you have any experience with 2MB ChipRAM- adapters, but i do, and i can say that i never have had any problems with them. As long as you do not shake the A2000 back and forth on
your desk in a brutal way, it just stays stuck. No problem whatsoever.

£25.32 additional shipping!? You have a good humor sense
Price of this board including Agnus will be equivalent to the A500+, so tell me a good reason to buy it

£25,32 is for the male PLCC socket, not for shipping. Most people have no soldering skills, so if you sent it to someone who can solder it for you + price of shipping, the price is going to be higher then the £25 for the PLCC socket. So    for you!

ToggleClick, Im sure if your willing to pay the £25.32 for the male PLCC socket and get it sent to Tuxbar81 he would be willing to solder it on his amazing Megachip boards for you if you ordered one

If he were so kind to do so, then I would definitely appreciate that. I certainly appreciate the hard work he put into develop this nice new hardware. :)

Sent him a PM ToggleClick, has the saying goes "If you don't ask you don't get" :D

You're right about that! I send him a PM immediatly! :)

PM replied. The PLCC of the link isn't compatible with the A2000 Megachip.
The other problem is that this socket is a 68 way version. The Megachip needs 84 ways.

PM sent to At800 & el_pasi.

@holzroller: You have received your Megachip, you have paid for it.
Unless I'm mistaken, you have never paid for the AGNUS chip.
Please, check your Paypal account, and answer to my PM. Thank you.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

@At800: you read my PM, but no answer received, so, your Megachip is proposed to cktwo.

Email sent to el_pasi. If no answer before tomorrow evening, the two Megachip will go to dallyis and Neraka.

It appears I have been skipped. Can you look back on the list and let me know?

Thanks.

Except if I made a mistake, you have never said if you want the Megachip as kit or assembled. You only said "Interested".
I've found no trace of a PM. If you had sent one, please send it back again. Thanks.

Actually, I have only four board from the first batch. These boards are assembled with AGNUS onto, so they are for members who have declared their interest for the Megachip fully assembled. The second batch will be for everyone.

You are correct. I missed the post you made on 6/3 where you wanted to know if assembled/disassembled. The last PM I received from you was when you asked if I wanted an Agnus, which I replied that I had just purchased my own.

If it’s still possible to get in to the second batch, I will take a unit disassembled.

Thanks!

If it will speed things up for me to get one with an Agnus and assembled I will be happy to take one this one and pay the extra.
