So yesterday i started to put my 3000T back together just becouse i have an MKII on its way and wanted all to be fit for fight when it arives, but i encpuntrd a problem right away.

I have an prometheus with a voodoo 3 and i cant get it to work any more.
I install the prometheus 1.5 drivers ( have tried with all the updates to 2.5) and i install picasso96 and pick a 31hz in the install.
When i reboot the machine all i get is a blank screen on the ECS output and nothing at all on the voodoo 3 output, not even out of range, it just goes to power saving.

If i remove the prometheus from devs/monitors everything fires up just fine again.
i ran prmscan and the voodoo is detected corectly.

Could it be that i dont have any fast mem or an accelerator atm that is causing this problem?

Currently trying this on a classic workbench install both lite and avsp.

Picasso 96 needs at least an 020 IIRC, but do you have 030 in your A3000T or just 68000?

It might also need an FPU as my Mediator/Voodoo don't work on my RevD A4000 that has built in 030 CPU without FPU! Only working when I attach a turbo board...

All the best,
Steve.

Ahh plus you probably need some Fast Ram too, you don't have any Zip's on the Mobo?

What about ZII/ZIII Ram, no SCSI boards or ZorRam's kicking around the house?

i never got mine to boot without an accelerator fitted, don't know if that helps:)

lol as always Fitzy the ninja is faster than me (just like every Monday night)

I have no ram what so ever and im using the onboard 020 cpu :)

My MKII will probably arrive tomorrow and i hope it will work with that installed.

its a 25mhz 030 in a a3000t isent it?

probably a fastram issue, you need the same amount of fastram thats on the video card for display purposes.

its more like the busboard creates a window in witch the cards exist within the system, which requires fastram.

I thought so also but im almost 100% sure that it said 020 yesterday when i ran "showconfig"
Could it have anything to do with the system i had setup in winuae? It was setup as a 1200 when i did the installation with ofc an 020 cpu. doubt it but i better ask anyway.

hmm good question.i dont know about setting up amiga drives using winuae though.i do all mine manually.

but i doubt it also.

i know showconfig shows a slightly different answer between os's maybe thats what your seeing.there isent really alot of difference between a 020 and an ec030 or 030

Normally no, the only cpu related issue I know is an 060 needs different libs, so if you are making a "recovery" boot hard disk best is to include them, then it runs on any amiga, but not for daily usage!
