lmao, as I say, it's just too open ended for me, same as Elder Scrolls series. I liked the intro though, it was very cool walking out into the world for the 1st time.

Legend Of Zelda and FF7 is about as much exploration as I can cope with. Dragon Age Origins and Mass Effect 2. They never leave me guessing how to progress the plot further despite doing and going wherever I want to.

The thing with fallout is , you make your own choices and plan your own route through the world -more or less and I like that a lot.

For far too long have games been checkpoint to checkpoint ..

You don't like fallout 3 ? What... That's it it's over between us!! ;-)

Fallout 2 is better imo, despite some annoying bugs... But i do enjoy Fallout 3 very much and still haven't got round to playing Fallout: New Vegas yet.

I never played the top down fallout games but I remember them from my pc days ..

 Y'know, looking at those screen shots that morcar posted, the lower one kind of reminds me of System Shock 2, especially the "reveal" level

Uh oh thats done it, will SOMEBODY just make System Shock 3...............please?

Finally got hold of Rage. Must say, I'm impressed the graphics are great, art style is cool and the weapons are fun to use.

No graphics glitches on my alienware laptop :)

WinXP will only give your DirectX Version 9.xxxxx
Win7 will give you up to DirectX Version 11.xxxxx support if your graphics card is capable.

What Mainboard, CPU, RAM & Graphics card are you using?

Mainboard
Gigabyte S3-P35

CPU
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600

Memory
4Gb 1066Mzh Corsair Dominator

Graphics Card
Radeon 1Gb 5770

Surmising your version of Rage a legit one;

Have you checked AMD/ATI site for issues with their cards & Rage/Win7?
The ATI cards suck for driver support too, especially with some of the more recent titles.
Your System is of fair spec, so no real inadequacies there, but running WinXP will only let your ATI card run DX9 @ best, so lots of DX10/11 texturing will be missing when you play the game. Be sure you install the vey latest DirectX Redist after Win7 installs.

Any game you install hereafter shoud include any required Dx runtime files when installed.

I liked Rage very much until the final level came and left me with a ton of unused ammo waiting for a real challenge that never came.... :/

I've heard that the ending is terrible, but I guess that's what DLC is for in this and age :(

Still, I'm really enjoying the journey to get to the crappy ending, has about as much exploration as I like in a game, the driving is a bit meh, but the boomarang is very satisfying to use and I always love the ID Shotguns, always sound great :)

Well I really dont care if this game is in DX9 as long as i can play it.

It still looks great anyway and fairplay I think ID have done a good job on it.

I bought it about a month ago, was a bit miffed at how short it was but after playing the Fallout series and Oblivion (oooo skyrim soon! )it would seem short.

The thing that REALLY got me going was the 20GiB download ... That's not really got all the DLC packs added already has it!

Guys

My friend needs to upgrade his GFX card in order to run Rage but as usual is on a limited budget.

What would you guys say is the minimum NVIDIA card spec to give fairly decent gameplay...

Cheers
TC

Sounds like a lot of work just for one game... Why not dual boot?

Ahem... Rage problems affected nVidia users too :ninja:
