Not a bad idea to get one for toying with though!

David Braeben had a hand in it's development too ;)

still waiting for mine , ordered, paid for but still waiting.

rumor has it that clive sinclair is the head of deliveries :whistle:

This whole thing is obsurd! I have gone through the preorder sequence in mid-April, and as i mentioned some while ago i received a verification mail from them saying that my Pi(e) will be delivered by the end of June.
I was even assured by an employee of theirs through chat that this was the case.
Seeing as it's near end of month, i thought i'd write the sales depot. another mail... :picard
Here's the back n' forth messages:

Me:
Hello, i have been talking to an employee of yours last week (a man named Darren), who actually assured me that my Raspberry Pi delivery would take place within this week. I have explained to him that i received an email from your company on the 27th of April (Friday, April 27, 2012 3:24 PM) informing me that delivery would be by the end of June. Here's what your mail said:

Dear customer,
Having successfully passed its CE compliance testing, we can now confirm that your Raspberry Pi will be delivered by the end of June. You will receive a confirmation email prior to your Raspberry Pi being shipped.

So, it's already the 27th, and i have had no confirmation about it..
Can you please inform me of the status?

Element14:
Thank you for your e-mail.

Appreciate if you could advise the order reference in order for us to assist further
on your enquiry.

Me:
Thanks for your rapid response! I have forwarded to you the aformentioned email i received from your company on the subject.
I have no other details to give you, all i know is that once i received an earlier email from your company on April the 17th, i logged in, and applied for a preorder. Had no further confirmation, just the email i forwarded to you stating that my delivery would be by the end of June..
I would appreciate us sorting this out, as i am really confused!

Element14:
The June delivery is for Raspberry PI orders placed in April.
You should have received our order confirmation if you ordered and had successfully made payment to us.
If yes, please advise us on your order reference number so that we can proceed to check on the status for you.

However, if you have only registered your interest with us and have not placed an order back in April, you may want to re-register again
as our fulfilment of the orders are by different batches.

Thanks once again for your reply! When i received the first email, i went and completed the required data over at:
https://export.farnell.com/jsp/raspi/purchase.jsp?country=GR&verify=ff680b2b66f61bfbb3c10af97d378238
Your company has had (and i believe still does) have the details of my credit card, which i actually remember having to remention.
There was really nothing else i was instructed to do, no further actions that i have avoided in order to leave this purchase incomplete.
Are you saying that i actually have to go again through the process and perhaps wait another couple of months etc?

After that, silence... :double
I'd really like to try that gadget out, but if they keep being so 'professional', i think i'll go for a MK802 miniPC.

For me, today I've received this mail:

Thanks for the details fellas, but i doubt i'll be seeing her...
@LTAC: After going through the pre-order sequence, were you ever asked again anything to place the order? Have you meanwhile received any other detailed messages? Has your account been charged long ago, or was it today when you also got this last message?
I sense there's shortage on the T-Shirts, and they're trying to satisfy older orders first... :p

@salaxi54: after my 2 pre-order sequence (01/04/2012 & 02/04/2012), I received this message:
Great news!
You can now order your Raspberry Pi by clicking on the link below. Thanks for staying patient with us.

After, I received a message (20/06/2012) explaining the delay in delivery (mid-July 2012??):
Dear customer,

We are sending you this message to update you on delivery of your Raspberry Pi.

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances causing a delay in the supply chain, we can't send your order just yet, but it will be despatched the week commencing 02/07/2012. You will receive a confirmation email prior to your Raspberry Pi being shipped.

We know that you have already been supremely patient, but please bear with us for a little while longer. We are sure that the wait will have been worth it once you can experience the limitless computing potential and enjoyment the Raspberry Pi offers.

If you have any further questions, please visit our FAQ page on element14 for more information.

Payment does not appear on my bank account.

For me, today I've received this mail: ....

I'm happy

Excellent. I received my despatch email last night.

The waiting game continues...

Sounds good! We can make a RASPBERRY PI Community!!! :D

Got mine the day after the email was sent. Pretty sure I ordered mine in the middle of April or round about, maybe a bit earlier. I'm sure they won't have forgotten, they just don't seem to be keeping up with demand too well at the moment.

@All - Please bare in mind that these are in limited supply at the moment and while these are being distributed by a business, the actual company responsible for their development is a charity. The Pi itself is technically pre-release still and not yet a commercial product. Most of the software is still in development and in alpha and beta phases. They're selling them now mainly because its a public project and they need all the help they can get from devs and enthusiast willing to test the software and help toward its development.

Anyone who ordered will get one. And no I don't work for them :D

That would explain it! I won't be joining your Pi community as it seems...
I never got a mail like you did (You can now order your Raspberry Pi by clicking on the link below. ) after the preorder sequence..Who's to blame now? Dunno, but i rather not insist. I find the alternative platforms more interesting now!

Sorry when I said I got mine the day after the email I meant the order dispatched email, not the 'you can now order' email. In fact a few people I know never got that email at all and just ordered direct from Farnell who ask you what your professional field is when you place the order if you do it that way. I'm not sure if they use that to prioritise who gets one first, but it may be the case, most people I know who have got one up to now are in the trade somewhere.

It may be something to do with you not being in the UK that's causing the delay.

There is no reason that anyone who has ordered won't get one however as they want as many out there as they can get out.

Here's a link to the order page for anyone having difficulty finding it to order...

@AmiNeo: My response was towards LTAC's comment, who got a mail to place his order. He isn't in the UK either by the way...
If i wasn't informed to act accordingly, how could i guess what the next step would be? I'm no oracle..

Do you know who sells them but takes PayPal?

there are only two suppliers and i dont think either of them take paypal (not sure tho) only other place is to buy one of ebay at loads more money than its worth.

i googled raspberry pi and clicked on the advert on the righthand side of the screen this took me straight to the order page. http://uk.farnell.com/jsp/displayProduct.jsp?sku=2081185&CMP=KNC-GUK-FUK-GEN-LISTINGS&gross_price=true
i dont know if it was any quicker this way or not. i ordered mine on 26/04/12 this was when you could only register your interest and there was no buy it link, i recieved it on the 21/06/12 (i think)

Aye thats the link I was actually looking for :picard I thought they'd changed the page but apparently not. The other page for registering interest is also still up, they could do with tidying their site up a bit.
