If ever wanted to add an RTC battery to a miggy, should I get a barrel Ni-MH (which doesn't leak apparrently) or a coin battery adapter?

I've been busy fitting rechargeable button cell batteries to all my Miggys that need batteries.

It's a Cell battery m8. No leakage what-so-ever. If ever the battery dies, replace it. This depends on the correct Cell battery circuitry being installed in the first instance for the specific Miggy. Some earlier models do not permit a straight swap, as you would end up boiling the Cr battery.

That is the only problem with the type of battery I've fitted. It's soldered in so needs desoldering when it eventually dies - that's if I don't die first :woot:
The other way with the holder, diode and cell battery may be better. Because at least you can change the battery when it goes flat

an what about the Ni-MH on amikit? can those leak even though they aren't ni-cad?
