so,i was asked to look at these, for now i'll give a list of what i have to look at repair wise and opened on behalf of bryan fieldhouse
here is the list of monitors, for now as its for feedback purposes and something to look at
1 cm8833 mk2
2 cm8833 mk1
1 commodore 1084st
1 commodore 1084s-d2
1 atari sc1435
these are in various states of faulty from dead onwards,i'll update the thread as i go
i will probably repair the dead ones first and go from there,i will send the op the link for this thread
roy
Edit: i couldnt finish a monitor today becuase of defective parts sent by donberg, this is going to be a real problem going forward for me ,or anyone else in this repair trade
this has seemed to be happening since christmas when i first noticed the parts were bad, even the replaement they sent me is defective
i have sent them an email ,and mentioned hr diemans manufacturing problem, which seems to be lacking in quality
to say i am unhappy with this is a understatement
in the meantime i will carry on with another monitor on this list, and try to get somewhere, pff
Edit: this is a cm8833 mk1 ,i felt like cleaning the case on this one it was filthy
i have to get something done, right?
if ive got time today,i'll try to get this working by the end of today, obviously its dead
Edit: i'll test the audio and other inputs and controls tomorrow, but this one works now
Edit: this is finished now,it passed a soak test ,from what i can see it fully works
so,thats one down
next one will be the other mk1
Edit: second cm8833 mk1
replaced the lopt and mians switch ,did a setup and saok test it seems fine
everything works
only other issue is this was damaged in shipping, bryan has already tried to fix the studs(which is admirable),but tube didnt quite fit to the front properly i have managed to pull it in a bit closer
i think there was a gap on the left side of about 2-3mm? its flush or the best i can get it,i did have to wangle a repair to one stud as its still broken
bryan knows what i mean
here are some pictures
Edit: cm8833 mk2 revisit,this is now working
it seems the lopt fault is a assembly problem, ill explain this in another thread i need to confirm it 100%
but for now, here is pictures of this working properly
Edit: this one is a 1084st
it had a pincushion issue, which i have fixed and a few drifted capacitors,in that circuit,i have abridged this alot so its not a wall of text
basically i gave it a look over while its here,it works
there was a scratchy volume control ,i think i have fixed that problem,it involved nearly stripping the entire monitor removing the pot and soaking it in alcohol
if you know anything about this model, you know what i mean,i dont really want to sound like a moaner
ill try to fix the control flap not closing as its broken,if i can then ill do it
Edit: 1084s-d2
not really alot wrong with this, but i changed the mains switch,it had a slight green tint,i fixed that, and gave it a bit of a clean inside
thats about it
Edit: atari sc1435
first picture is a previous repair, nothing to do with me just posting that for transparency
i changed the lopt ,mains switch did saok test everthing seems to work
thats the last monitor for this thread
Edit: these were picked up yesterday
