Re: Simplest IDE port, not the best one - for CD0

Aha, the files I need are in another archive.

Readme.txt said:
This archive contains the latest ROMs für Buddha and Catweasel Z-II. Buddha Flash and Catweasel "S-Class" models can put the rom image file directly into the flash memory.
For older models (Buddha, Catweasel Z-II and Catweasel Z-II MK2), an Eprom-programmer is necessary. The same rom Image files can be used.

So I need an Eprom-programmer to make my Catweasel Z-II MK2 up to date in firmware. Not good. Anyone? :-)

But, the same read me also states:

If you want to test the software first, use the expansion drivers and the LoadIDE command.

Good, so no urgent need for reflashing.

Okay, status update.

XSurf-test 1: Drivers load, but the DVD-CD rom is not detected. It's the only device on the chain, and it's master.
XSurf-test 2: Drivers load, but neither the Driver or the flash are detected. Drive is slave, flash is master.

Catweasel-test1: Drivers load, but the drive is not detected and buddha speed says no board detected.

I don't know if the problem is the dvd/cd-rom drive, or my boards or the grex. lol.

I will now try the tandem.

You're nearly there

Not much further to go :D

My Tandem (when I used it) saw my card and CD without any problems. Quite a nice bit of kit really. 'Does what it says on the tin' :thumbsup2:

Yes, damned - the tandem worked. It saw the drive on it's IDE port, but not on the ATAPI/CDRom port. LOL.

Now I've installed CGXv4 and OS3.9.

Really wierd that the XSurf and Catweasel didn't work.

Now, the motherboard is in bad shape. No matter which chipram stick I use I get validation errors with it when I try to use memtest.

Nah, it's the validation program which is crap. It gives errors in UAE too
