Been going through my old Sinclair hardware...

1- I have a ZX80, built myself many moons ago....the display is there and the keyboard inputs show on screen, but the screen jumps vertically continuously

2- Have three ZX81's and can't get a display of any of them....have two different PSU's tested and working...

3- Have Two 48K spectrums, one working ok, the other no screen display...

4- lastly have a Spectrum + which is working fine.....

I can only assume that time has not been friendly to the non working machines.....bought originally it was the modern TV causing the issues, particularly with the thre ZX81's......but maybe they just have problems..

any comments please

thanks

What display are you using with them? A proper CRT for the ZX80/1? (Edit: I see you mentioned a modern TV... but I would try and source an old analog CRT TV before deciding they are faulty :-) ) - My ZX80 and ZX81 look like complete rubbish on anything other than an old analog tuning TV - I could convert them to composite but I don't want to.

thanks

I have a 14" colour portable JVC which still works. Used to use it for the Megadrive etc. You can have it for a drink. You will have to pick it up though

So very generous, but too far I am afraid.....will hopefully find something similar local.....amazing the tips are full of them, but try and get one free or cheap LOL....am trying gumtree and free cycle..

thanks again again for the offer

Didn't the ZX80 just have that jumping problem and it was something that clive sinclair made sure didn't happen on the ZX81...
