I just bought the first version of the Nintendo DS it came today yay.

When I opened the box there was no stylus and the right hinge was broken which i might add the person did say. In fact they said it was in VGC and like new

Emailed the person today to say I found a new case and a pack of 4 stylus's all for £8 and could i have a slight refund of £8 to cover the parts..... no answer yet and i am not expecting anything....

To say i am fuming is an understatement as this was for my kids and not they cant play it :(

I dont even bother trying to contact on ebay now. I open a case asap, sick and tired of being robbed and messed about with messages.

Before you open a case it always asks have you tried to contact the seller, I always put yes and lie :)

only giving it until tomorrow morning and then i will file a case

Whats their feedback like? Is it a newbie?

good news i got a refund to replace the casing and stylus ... might be a lucky day or something

yeah its a newbie although from the name it might be a girl

You got to give people a chance to fix things and lying and filing a case immediately is stupid do enough and they wont let you file anymore. If you file before you give the seller a chance to fix the problem then you are a part in it not the solution. Just my opinion.

I think you are getting yourself confused with opening a case and escalating to a claim. Opening a case does nothing apart from make the buyer respond/give a refund. 9/10 they respond the same day when you open a case rather then sending a message and waiting for days.

This way if they dont respond within a certain amount of time you can esclate to a claim much quicker.

Not confused

Not confused

You can only open so many cases before they won't let you open anymore.

Tell me about it, I bought something last saturday, which had 48 hour post service and a 1 day posting time on it. So I paid and waited... It gets to friday (yesterday) and its still not here so I emailed the seller and he replied, the cheeky git hasnt even posted it...

...No reason but he did apologise. Does it hurt to type a quick email at some point during the week and tell the buyer?

Here's a new one...

I won a couple of ZX81's on eBay thorugh the same seller who listed them as £4.80 each postage which isn't too bad. However since it was the same guy why not get him to reduce the cost and get a quote for them together? How hard can it be? So I thought anyway. . .
A few days pass and I get a quote for £14.*somethingrather*. Er, wot? An email goes ahead asking why it was more then the quotes from the eBay listing but I swear to god that he must have been the dimmest individual I have ever had the misfortune to come accross. I took a whopping 8 responces to get him to try and understand. In the end I asked if it could be cancelled if he couldnt atleast ask for what he quoted originally (I even had to do the sums for him). I still don't think he understood but I got the cancellation and a reply saying he now he has "a bad feeling with selling ZX81's". Nothing to do with the fact you got your numbers wrong I guess, it must be Clives fault...

Thing is I would have been ok with paying the guy extra if it turns out that he actually posted them and told me he'd made an error or if he said he can't make P+P cheaper for that reason then I would have paid extra. It's the fact he done it without any message for the reason for the price hike that botherd me more hence why I asked to cancel the transaction. Plus I was dealing with someone whos about as bright as a turd.

Bright as a black hole more like, lol. Ebay should have a basic intelligence test before they let you make an account. No account if your IQ doesnt reach double figures

The amount of idiots trading is unbelievable.

Seems to be a sudden rash of idiot sellers lately.

Oh, you are in Australia!
Never done this before.
Our Post Office is over the road so I will go and find out.
Back soon.

That was three days later, nothing, nada
And it took 3 days to even get that first reply.

Darn it, was something I actually needed and soon. Suffice to say I'm getting what I need using non ebay methods. For added annoyance, another item I wanted was UK only postage, guy never replied so it sold with only one bid.

:censored:bay

Apparently, its a very wide road...

I'll bet he came back and gave the reply to the wrong guy.

What was it that Einstein said?

"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."

He was on to something there... most of these people wouldn't even qualify for a Provisional Computer Driving Licence.....

Let's face it, most of them wouldn't qualify as sentient beings
