Hey guys, since the PSU I was waiting for arrived today I built up the AmigaOne XE that has been here for about a week now!

Very cleaver case this one as it's Micro ATX size but due to cleaver PSU placement it can take a full size ATX Motherboard which the A1 XE is. I used to have my Media Center setup in this case for the same reason as it can take decent size Graphics Cards too.

The pics sadly are a bit of an afterthought as I had problems getting it to boot from CD to install OS4.1, because this board does not have the DMA fix I need to use the PCI IDE card and it just wont detect any of my CDROM's!

The good news is that I had a HDD with OS4.1 already setup in my old case that my uA1 was installed in, and better news that boots just fine on the XE :-D

SO here she is running the latest update 6 of 4.1, USB is working from the PCI card as I'm using a USB mouse, therefore I should be able to use a USB CDROM if I need to load up a CD.

Using the on-board sound right now, there is a Soundblaster Live installed but I don't know if it works with 4.1? It came with the board so I assumed it would...

Definitely feels much quicker than my uA1 (800mhz) however this one has a proper AGP Radeon 9250 instead of the on-board Radeon 7000 on the uA1 which is very much it's Achilles Heel...

Hope you enjoyed the pics!

very nice steve have fun with this baby

Thanks mate, I'm just waiting for an extension for the 20pin connector on the PSU as it wont reach to put the PSU back in the case. I done some cable tidy up and hooked up the HDD LED, getting there now :)

Is it a G4 or a G3? The previous owner was talking about it as a G3...

I think it's G3, I wonder can the CPU be changed for G4 and if so will it make much difference?

Testing the new version of ScummVM - Works great even with OpenGL filtering :D

Hey Stevo, nice setup you've got there mate, hope that you will enjoy AmigaOS 4.1 for one more time (this time more speedy?). :)

If you can find a G4 module go for it.

EDIT: I've played Full Throttle via ScummVM as well. It's a great adventure game.

Thanks mate, yeah it's a better experience with the extra mhz and graphics power. Having one issue with MACE, the fire button on the Pad works but no directions! Same pad works fine on the uA1 and of course I've calibrated it already and tested with other Games, just MACE that has the issue - Nice to see MACE in HD res @80fps tho

Well in there Steve Scumm is awesome I just figured it out myself and playing Monkey Island on it was great. just trying to figure out Doom its chucking errors about gaming device LOL

What version of Doom are you running? Check out prboomgl, it's the best Doom port for OS4.1 and even uses Warp3D :)

Got my 20pin ATX connector extension so PSU installed properly now:

I removed the Soundblaster and now the Jystick works in MACE so I guess the Game port was interfering!
