Someone trying to Hacked Account!

I have also got an email from EAB this morning about the same problem, again its someone in russia who is trying to log into accounts ie here

I'm going to take a look at the EAB link in davideo post now ;)

Could someone write up a password best practices tutorial? Surely we have some tec-security savvy people here?

I've been old school so far, in making passwords that's hard for humans and easy for computers.

But I think I've getting to grips with this, and have planned a full on password overhaul and go through everything I've got - from my computers to online banking and emails - set new long poetic passwords! :P

Basically, the golden rule of password security is length. The longer it is, the harder it is to guess. Adding numbers and punctuation increase the complexity, but not nearly as much as whacking a few extra characters on the end. If you want to be able to memorise it easily, just use lowercase letters, but make it 20+ characters long.

If you have a number of passwords that you use regularly, try combining some of them into one long password

Who IP address is this?

The person trying to log into your account twice in 2 days had the following IP address: 188.143.234.14

It look like from Russia hacker

If you google ip lookup, there are various serivices which can give you an aproximate geograpic location.

If you want to have an admin look into if we have other members with that IP address, you need to send a PM to a member of Admin or Dev staff (red titles under their usernames)

one guess would be maybe south africa?

all the others said saint petersburg russia.

I hate it when companies impose the classic password criteria of eight characters and a capital. It makes the password so difficult to remember.

My last one was HueyDeweyLouieDonaldDaisyGoofyMickeyMinnieSydney! :D
