I'm a big fan of the The Arcade Joystick by Suzo and I liked the idea to use it on a Raspberry Pi or modern PC.

I've used a cheap NES USB controller as a starting point.

Would be nice if you told us exactly what you have done. We see pictures, and you clearly got the board from the NES controller, put it somehow in The Arcade Joystick, but you don't mention which cables have to be soldered where. Could you make a diagram of which cables go where?
 
Hi all, Did you know that the well-known Suzo The Arcade Joystick even came in three different colors. I thought it was just only black and beige. But a few years ago, I discovered there was also a gray version. I now have two of them. But they're very hard to find. See, this is what I mean: https://c-64.nl/the-arcade-joystick/
