i never had the 128, i had the 48k+ ....was the 128K much better?

Technically it has only bigger RAM, improved sound chip and added RGB port, I think. A several games was developed on 128k which didn work on 48k.

I only had a Slovak clone of ZX spectrum, but my friend had 128k one and it was first original spectrum I saw and play. And it is still my spectrum holy grail. I think 128k is more rare/expensive than ony other spectrum model.

Or Sam Coupe is my holy grail?

I was completely impressed and blown away by the Amiga but in general the early games were pretty bad, there were some exceptions of course but i always (even then) thought the Amiga was , well slow..

remember bart simpson vs the aliens thing , full disk intro

brilliant but sloooow

My first computer was the dragon 32 then i had a vic20 and then found out about the c64.
I finally got my first c64 when i was 14 in 1989 and cost me £64 saved from my odd jobs.
Then came all my miggys first a a600 then a500 the all the rest.
But my most loved is my c64 which i still have with acton replay, sid symphony stereo cart, digitizer, midi interface,3 port switcher,1541mkii,cmd fd 2000 and other stuff.

and the action replay fast load was brill for near instant loading and saving to disk

i forgot how bad the spectrum was for loading errors....now i remember. The c64 was more reliable but it took some game 15 mins to load (omg)

R Tape loading error... It was a nightmare  Yes, technically it was nothing special, however it became very popular. Maybe because of low price and a lot of clones worldwide. Or maybe because rubber model is one of best looking piece of electornics ever made :)

yeah true, i had the action replay on the c64 for saving to disk, Leaderboard golf in 5 or 6 seconds - brilliant!

so when i got the Amiga A500 i bought the action replay too, i remember the guy asking was it a 1.3 or 2.0 machine as he had two action replays..

i was disappointed to see my 512k A500 wasnt as quick as the 64k c64 at saving lol, we worked out that the ram was bigger in the Amiga ha ha

Yes, Sam Coupe can't be compared to Amiga, but it is maybe one of the best 8 bit computers. At it was priced about £200, and Amiga about £500-£600? (dont know exacly).

Yes, yes, I now that amiga was best ;), but it is little about nostalgic value, And I met amiga very late, in 90's :)

whats warp25?

it was the fastest disk loading turbo ever written for the C64 and the 1541. Came bulit-in with Datel's Action Replay cartridge

BIG picture so link only ...

This looks cool,, I have a C64 now, will keep an eye out for this :) most of my friends had Spectrum so I guess it was what computer found you that led us to here 2011 and still affected by it :)

The C64 had one thing that was awesome, remember the Ocean Loading screen and music? Class!

I remember I replaced my Freeze Frame with a Final Cart III which was much better and sooooo fast at loading stuff.

Fav Machines (in total - not just 80's)

Amiga
C64
Spectrum
ZX81

Consoles - not so much although my first console was a SNES and it was very good but I was (and still am) a gamer who prefers a keyboard, mouse and joystick :)

If you can find one, it's the Mk VI or the Mk VI pro version you want :D

cant recall what the Amiga one was..

yes its all about fondness of a machine and very little to do with what its capabilities are...
As for the Sam coupe ....i dont even remember anyone ever taking about it but by then i was a commodore user
