Great thread
Anyway, this is quite a difficult one, as I'm not sure if anything of mine is rare or not!
Rare Hardware
Amiga 1000 - it's an NTSC machine, not a PAL one, however, after discussing with olihd at Play Expo, we suspect mine is a rarer earlier model (it's lacking the big Commodore badge on the front) but I know very little about the A1000 anyway
Amiga 1500 - I would say this is somewhat rare, especially being as it's a model that's specific to the UK market only. I've only ever seen one of these other than the one I own, and that was in Dixon's back in the early 90s
Acorn Archimedes A4000 - not seen many of these about, can they be classed as rare?
Amiga 500 OCS Kickstart 1.2 RED Power LED and Commodore badge on keyboard - yup, I have one, but it's not working. Unfortunately, it was never working properly when I got it and suspect mobo failure as I've changed every chip I can on the board (and changed them back) but it just gives me a black screen no matter what I do, but power LED does light up - I'm reluctant to change the mobo as I don't know if I'll be able to get the same revision, all the A500 mobos I've found are newer that the one in this machine, in which case, it'll lose it's rarity/originality if changes.
Also, I do think the outer case was changed before I acquired the machine, as the outer case has a flat C= logo, not the embossed one, by the floppy drive (above the Power LED and Floppy LED) so it's not in original condition anyway.
Original Gameboy in Black - yes, despite popular belief, Nintendo did make the ORIGINAL gameboy in colours other than beige. I have a boxed black one.
Original Gameboy in Red with the Manchester United logo on it - yes, despite popular belief, Nintendo did make the ORIGINAL gameboy in colours other than beige. I have a Man Utd limited edition model, but it's unboxed.
Everything else I have is pretty common though.
Rare accessories
Don't think any of my accessories are rare to be honest! I suppose the rarest accessory is the MegiChip I have to give 2MB CHIP RAM on A500/A2000.
Another rare-ish accessory (by today's standards anyway) is the
Commodore A570 CD-ROM drive
Rare software/games
Street Fighter II (Sega Master System) - this is a rare release, only released in Brazil under the
Tectoy publishing label. It's a crap version, and mine is still sealed (making it worth even more) - I've played it under emulation and therefore know exactly how bad it is without having to open it. THIS IS THE ONLY SEALED GAME I HAVE, as I don't believe in buying something and not using it.
Street Fighter II (Commodore 64 Floppy Disk version) - not boxed, disk only, but I no longer have a working C64 floppy drive

it's not a great version anyway
Street Fighter II (Spectrum cassette version) - yup, there was a Speccy version, it's aweful, and takes an age to load
Street Fighter II Turbo (SNES 'silver tin' ltd. edition with pin badge and early serial number) - LOL shame I don't have a SNES to play it on anymore, but I kept this one as I thought there may be some value behind it. It's in pretty battered condition, but it's the same condition as when I bought it.
Although maybe not considered as 'retro', these are extremely difficult to get hold of -
Windows XP Tablet Edition (original, not 2005 edition) and Windows XP Media Center Edition (original, not 2005 edition) - these were released to Tier 1 OEMs only, but a couple of years ago, I managed to get my hands on generic (non-branded) OEM discs of these (originals, not copies) - quite a find! The
2005 editions of these were released through all the usual OEM channels (including the OEM System Builder channels were non-Royalty OEMs get OEM versions of Windows XP) and hence not as rare to get hold of as the versions I have. Although I have these, they are not boxed, are disc only and the license COA stickers are used on PCs that I still own.
That's about it, everything else I have is as common as muck and easy to get hold of.
Amstrad 6128 with MP2 Modulator/PSU
I have one of these as well (with the MP2 RF mod/PSU) but I wouldn't call it rare exactly.
If you have the MP3 (the modulator that connects to the Amstrad monitor, converting it in to a TV) then that IS a rarity
