Tools for removing BGA-glue

Hi

More and more BGA-IC:s are glued after soldered. Either on the edges of the chip, or below, or both. I found a chemical solution (link) and a mechanic tool (link) that claims to help removing the glue. Has anyone tried one (or both) these methods, and can recommend either (or both) of them?

The BGA:s I'm about to remove are going to be used elsewhere, so it's of utter importance the glue-remover does not damage the chip.

There was a video on youtube of somebody removing a BGA chip with the proper re-work station tools. Their prep work had them using the heatgun to soften the glue enough to pull it off! I shall check my video history and see if it is there

Sounds like one of Louis Rossman's videos. He calls it "underfill" and directly blames "touch death" on particular iPhone models on lack of underfill for the touch IC.
