@amigean, which one of the links that you provided do you feel is best? I do not know better. I know that for some reason there is no standard and interestingly until that Polestar 2 vs. Volvo XC no one even attempted this analysis at all. For years no one was willing to do such an analysis. I also know that I don't see one like it from competing car makers. Where is the VW one or example? They have comparable vehicles. Why hasn't F1 done this with this whole greenwashing hybrid nonsense? If anyone has the data, it is F1. They know what they ship, how many personnel are needed to service the more complex cars. They know how many geeks in the back of the garage are automating the engine modes at each track. They know the cargo shipments and weight. Distances traveled. F1 is perfectly positioned to show us how much better and greener hybrid F1 is over V8+ERS or V10 F1. Yet, they won't. Why not? Because we all know what it would show us, and that's before we account for the extra Grand Prix each season.

What I do know, based strictly on spec sheet is that cars of all types are getting suspiciously heavier to insane levels. This is true for all cars, and indeed I do not want to consume this much weight/mass in my personal transportation needs, regardless of the propulsion method. I am very surprised that more people don't feel this way. I'm also surprised that our European brothers and sisters are embracing these heavier bigger cars and American influence with such ease. Historically weight was the enemy in European cars. It is not so any longer. Just shipping the heavier cars all over to destination...what's the environmental impact of that? Since the models were brought up in this chat...while the Nissan Leaf is just over 3500lbs curb weight, BYD Seagull is under 2600lbs for the 300km range model. Honda Fit weight. Interesting. $10.000 USD price. Hmmm.

Please someone explain to me WHY an F1 car is lining up on the grid at over 900Kg...I want to understand.

Finally...you're an Amiga fan. Has the story of Amiga not taught you motives, requirements, goals and incompetence of corporate machine? None are green and none want to be your friend. They just want you to buy what they sell.
