Ugh! That thing went soo over my budget!
Know what you mean, €300 euros is a lot to make your Amiga run 20 year old software at lightening speeds. I can do that already for a fraction of the price through my rpi.

@all - can i just remind people that price discussions are not allowed on amibay.

Why not when it's a fixed price brand new item? it's not like used price valuations are being discussed, much like ebay bin links are allowed but auctions are not.
Does anyone know if the HDMI now works for all screen modes. I know in the past they were going to fix that with a an upgrade but did it happen? In other words can you play games, load workbench etc via the HDMI port with an LCD without needing a regular monitor as well?
after all this time I finally learn that two monitors are needed with the Vampire?
how did I miss that?
I suppose a monitor with scart input and Hdmi would be good but wouldn't you still have to manually switch for games?

It does not (yet) implement ECS/AGA so the HDMI can currently only be used as an RTG output. So it is only WB which can be shown through HDMI and you have to use the RGB port or an Indivision ECS for games.

Digital Video Output
32-Bit HDMI output from RTG and SAGA. No more need for ScanDoublers, FlickerFixers or 15KHz screens. You can now plug in your new shiny LCD screen.

True, they intended for it to do that, but it does not work yet.. Time will tell if and when this feature shows up.This bit is pretty misleading in my view,

as far i know - there are two teams working on this project:I'm surprised they are taking orders for the A500 model while the A600 model remains a partially completed product. Surely it would have been wiser to focus all their efforts on the current card and get everything working before releasing another card. That way at least they're not juggling two plates and spreading resources even thinner.
Considering how close Kipper was to throwing in the towel recently and how poor their communcation is with the public, I think the news of yet another card would have me worried if I actually owned one of their cards. If they were overworked and ignoring people before, goodness knows how they will be with two cards on sale.
The thing is that the people making the HW are not the same people who are doing the FPGA design or driver programming, thus it all runs in parallel. The fact that they are doing another board is hardly delaying the development of new features by much. If they should not release new boards until all features are done, the HW guys would just have to sit on their hands for a long time and that doesn't make much sense to me..
I guess my concern comes from the fact the whole project almost stopped a few months ago and if god forbid something happened again. What would happen to all those Vampire owners with thier partially working cards, would they still get support or be left to fend for themselves. Hopefully the software side would continue to trundle on. But as you said, you get what it says on the tin and you accept the risk, regardless of how pricey that might be.
