My first computer was a Mitsubishi MSX 1 with Yar Kung Fu and Circus Charlie, in 1985.
MSX computers were very popular at that time in France, my father sold these in his shop and I could try new games for free! :)
Happy times...

My first attempt at programming was on a games console that had a cartridge that you could program and allowed you to make up your own games.

For the life of me I can't remember the console but I do remember having to type it in with the hex pad on the joystick.

I created a version of the two cowboys shooting at each other as the wagon scrolled up the screen

Thanks to Johim's thread here https://www.amibay.com/showthread.php?t=15863 - I now know the name of the console

See piccy attached - nicked from John's thread

My first comp was the computer module for the Intellivision, which came with "Mr Basic meets Bits n Bytes". It was pretty silly, but I messed around with it until the power supply went.

My first real computer that I owned myself was an A1200. I went halfsies on it with my dad when I went to college. Had an awesome epson color printer.

What a fun thread!

I really, REALLY wanted a C64 for my first computer. Unfortunately, my family never had much money so my parents bought me a used CoCo 2 instead. :( Within about six months, I was able to save up some money and I traded the CoCo plus some cash for a C64 with absolutely no storage device at all. It always sucked typing in programs only to lose them when I had to turn off the system.

I eventually got a tape drive and a Final Cartridge III and was able to copy games to tapes from a friend's disk drive. My first 1541 came some months later and it was heaven. :D

I really wanted the C64 too - I ended up with a Mattel Aquarius instead after a stint of borrowing a family friends ZX81 for a short while...

I moved onto a ZX Spectrum+ - fun to play games on but I hated that thing. 16 times over 2 years it burnt out. Only 1 occasion was my fault - unfortunately it was the last and I decided not to get it fixed...

My next computer was an Atari 800xl - that was a great machine.

I moved onto a BBC model B - given to me faulty. It took me a few days to get it working :)

At college, for a while we used BBC Masters, then progressed on to z80 and 8086 boards connected to terminals... Then onto PC's...

Despite being inferior to the Spectrum, I still rate the Aquarius as one of the best machines I had as a kid.

It all began with an Amiga 500+, i was 10 and my life would never be the same again. :)

First computers were a Commodore C16 and an Amstrac CPC 6128 with colour monitor. This was back in 1985/86.
I found that games on 3" disc were so expensive that I ended up buying a tape deck & tape leads for the Amstrad, opening it up to the entire library of CPC 464 games too.

It wasn't until 1991 that I got my first Amiga which was the Amiga 500+ 'Cartoon Classics' pack. I loved that machine but was initially miffed with the compatiblity issues caused by Kicksart 2.04 and 1MB CHIP RAM. It was only when I got Relokick 1.3 (which was given away with an issue of CU Amiga) that I finally got the full usage from my A500+ (I had a lot of older titles in my collection)

I started out with a ZX81 and a 16k ram pack that i had to tape on because to moved. Although if that wouldn't get you then loading a 16k game from tape that took 30 min and sometimes more and would fail to load.

The I was given a ZX Spectrum 48k rubber keyboard when they came out and boy did that change my life big time.

I kept it right up when i had the ZX Spectrum +2 with the light gun and after a few years i jumped to an Atari STE 520 with 1mb of ram. I loved that STE loads as i got deep in the guts and just like the speccy i learned on how to write games and such.

then my friend was moving and gave me his 500 and 1200 which he upgraded the 1200 a lot. Hence to say i was in love with another machine.

I know we all have Pc's some high spec some low but lets face it the Amiga beats them all hands down. Thats why i am going back to it.

My first computer was a Sony HB-201 Msx-1 computer , with cassettes .
play a lot of konami games .
Later got a Amiga-1000 and a Amiga-2000 with Cd-rom drive .........

I started with:

Atari 800xl - great little system, tape deck died on it though, then the joysticks. These failures made a nice excuse for my old man to buy me a:

Commodore 64 - had this for about 2 weeks, my dad said it was rubbish (He didn't like to loading time) so he took it back to shop and returned with:

Amiga 500 - needn't say anymore , this evenutally got replaced as my main console by the:

SNES - Donkey Kong Country, Star Wing and Zelda. As a kid, the A500 couldn't compete  .

Owned pretty much every system that's been out since that time.

Will I'm only 24 1st thing I had that Played games was a master system my mum was poor so had that for years 1st proper compter I had was a windows xp 1 didnt no about specs then etc

My be a bit young to lot if you ask how got in to old systems when I was about 14 my uncle got a amiga 500 from some where played deluxe galaga and was hooked :)

Philips MSX-1, saved up for it all by myself  .. lol

Oh I remember the loading times on tapes .. and then you had to rewind once or twice. I typed up pages of basic to just show some lines on the screen but man was that cool back then :D

Nice thread revived here :)
Mine was an Amiga 500 in 1989, but I guess I got infected by virus computericus in 1987, toying around with a friend's C64. It's a pity I never got one of my own.
POKE 53280,0 ftw!

My first computer or the first computer I used?

Two very different questions :p

First one I used would have been either an Amstrad of some sort, a 286 or an Acorn Electron. I have no idea which.

First computer I owned was one I built in 2001.

Had a Tandon PC with four colors and 5.25 "floppy.
later I got an Amiga 500 Plus.
After this I had no personal computer before I spent a lot of money on a self built PC with AMD800mhz
at the end of the Pentium 233. 333. 600 mhz etc etc race
