hey all,

I have a 500, with a TF536 installed, and and gotek internally installed. When I bring up 3.2 to install it, it has these DF2 and DF3, unreadable icons that don't do anything when I click on them. Any idea why those are there??? DF1: Soho ????? comes up if I plug in my other gotek externally...

Thanks
J

Have a look in the Devs folder on the boot drive, there may be multiple types associated with DF0:, like a PC compatible disk and maybe others like diskspare or PFS. They'll read as unreadable if you insert regular amigados floppies as PC and PFS formats are very different. This way the same floppy drive can be used for multiple formats, but it does make a mess on the the workbench.

There's probably a line in startup sequence that mounts these formats. You could remove them and manually run them when needed. Just go to the devs folder and double click on the format you wish to use. They'll be gone by next reboot/restart.

Either that or something is incorrectly set with regards to drive select. I'm not too familiar with all types of goteks, it could be that some can be setup as multiple drives? But I guess that's only possible for DF1..3 not the internal df0 which is hardwired on a stock A500.

Double-check the Gotek on-board jumpers. Make sure the jumper block at S0 is there, and not on S1 (see picture). If there is also a jumper block on M0 then remove it and try restarting the computer again.
