Nice. However... it has wheels? Mechs should WALK or FLY! Driving through streets, getting stuck in traffic jams is so... not-evil-villain. *Cancels order* veractor:
It is quite cool that someone has actually built a mech, but it does look a bit silly on wheels. They obviously haven't the ability to create a walking mech... Japanese robotics are getting there though so it can only be a matter of time. I would love to see the faces on the mechanics in a garage taking one of these in for an MOT.
The movement of the torso and arms looks very slow too, so I can't see this winning any fights. Someone could just run around the back while is was still turning.

I know the USA have been exploring augmented armour for real combat applications. Those are along the lines of a powered suit idea like Space Marine 40K ideas than full mech walking tanks.
If they could perfect speed of robotic movement and proper walking then it could work for real combat situations. Tanks can easily get stuck if they don't have a clear path, whereas the idea of a mech with arms and legs that can be controlled via a pilot as if they were moving themselves has huge advantages for picking up things to clear paths, walking where normal vehicles couldn't go, and mounting plus carrying weapons.
