Little update today
I bought a Mechware SCSI Card reader to replace my Floppy drive and Roy Bates kindly made up a custom SCSI cable for me:
Installed into the original position of the Floppy Drive, to access the slots will need modification of the A1200 lid of course, this will be considered at length before any cuts are made, as my Father in Law says, measure twice, cut once!
First tests successful using 4gb CF PFS3 formatted in the CF card slot, it takes a long time to start booting +30 seconds I was starting to think it wasn't going to work as after a short flash of the LED's there was no activity for that time...
Just a simple install of BetterWB, it's rapid as you can imagine lol with the 030 and SCSI power!
Drive Speed a little slower than I was hoping, circa 2.5mb/sec so about the same as my IDEFix Express however I'm mindful that there will be a lot less CPU overhead from the SCSI
Still need to test the other slots, this was using 133x CF so I don't think the speed is limited by Media as I've had these running at 6mb/sec via SCSI-IDE bridges.
I imagine boot delay is due to searching all the LUN's?
