Great news!!!

What did he do to fix the CSPPC?

He repaired some damage by the Crystal - bad soldering job. I tried to resolder it and made it worse

Good job we have hero's like Hikey in the community

I really didn't do that much except desolder the crystal, clean it up, and then resolder it

And you made a cool Spider sticker - go-on show em :D

I made another little Vid, look out for the random hardware towards the end as I film around the desk

Nice video, brings me back to the good ole days of my PPC Amiga.

Question, I've been out of the scene for a while and wanted to know something. Back in the day, Cybergraphx v4 was pretty critical in using all of the 3D capabilities of my video card (CVPPC). Is that still the case? I dug out my old Amiga CDs and found the Cybergraphix v4 CD case but the CD was not in there. :tantrum:

Nice Vid fitzsteve :) good to see your making good use of that new desk ;)

Thanks mate

Well with my setup I'm using Picasso96 as CGX4 is not supported by the Mediator/Voodoo combination.

However in your setup with CyberVisionPPC you will need to use CGX4, drop me a PM and I should be able to help you out ;)

I also have a CVision, I intend to setup a dual booting system. I'll have Classic Workbench as above booting on the IDE as it's fast and resposive due to being a fairly basic setup and off the CyberSCSI where I have the HDD/SCSI-IDE bridge I'll be using OS3.9 with GGX4 through the CVPPC

I need to get hold of a ZorRam as well since my Fastlane Z3 is not supported in a Mediator setup and my DKB3128 seems to be faulty

Anyway - more updates on the way tomorrow once I've plumbed in the CVPPC :coffee:

Steve.

Hi Steve,

I see you use one internal CF to boot.

I have one A4KD in Mirage Pro too, but for dual boot I'm using one CF adapter (with 2.5" chasis) mounted in one 2.5" to 3.5" drive bay in the front of the tower.

You only need to power off the system, change the CF and Voodoo or CVPPC will be ready to go.

Maybe is not the best solution, but I'm very happy with this one. My two CF cards have the same soft installed, partitions, etc. only change the GFX card drivers.

My Best Wishes as allways my friend :)

Pablo

Hi Pablo my friend, indeed I do the same but mounting CF on the back of the tower - ofc it might be easier to make up a front bay for ease of changing cards.

BTW, I have Warp3D working on Mediator/Voodoo with PPC apps as you can see such as QuakeII, it didn't work at first as it seems one of the MMCD has corrupt Warp3D drivers, I replaced them with the same file, known working from another MMCD and it suddenly works :o

All the best,

Steve.

Little update!

I've installed my CyberVisionPPC, I had to borro the Deneb from my A4000T as the rommable modules I need for this setup are all in the Deneb :coffee:

Anyway, pleased to say she booted first time, no issues

Time to find out if you can used PCI Sound/Network with the CVision...

Thanks for the kind words, I think I'm happy with 233mhz for now and since the CSPPC is working perfectly now I don't want to disturb it lol

Grats on the system Steve! Green with envy

Many thanks

Got a small update for ya'll, I've mounted some bits in the case a bit better, the CF-IDE is mounted at the back now and I've installed ny CDRW with internal Card Reader.

Dual booting is all working perfect and it's all rebootless since I keep the BB2 modules in the Deneb

Cables are a bit messy, that needs a tidy up before I close the case :coffee:

This is CWB3.9 with CGX4 & Kens Icons/AfA_OS running of the CyberVisionPPC, booting off the SCSI:

And if I plug the CF card in it boots up CWB3.9 with Picasso96 using the MediatorPCI/Voodoo 3 :ninja:

I'm using registerd 060 HSMath Libs and WarpDT which I also licenced, this machine runs like sh*t off a shovel

Great news guys, I finally got Heretic II working on PPC/Warp3D :)

Hi my friend :)

I see your video.... Looks great

Do you used any special config?

My best wishes as allways

Pablo

Hi My friend

Thanks :)

No special config, I ran the game with default settings (+double buffering turned off) and chose Voodoo 640x480x16 and in the Game's own settings changed from Software Rendering to 'MiniGL' everything seems to work well, it's a little slow but playable

Oh I also tried to turn down the texture settings and make a smaller window, but it runs the same pretty much...

Heretic II is working for you?

Hi Steve,

Sorry for the long delay to answer you my friend

Well , with Voodoo3 3000 I can play just a few GL games, Quake & Quake II.

Heretic & Wipeout crashes all times. I tested them with a lot of configs, but no way. :(

In the other A4K, all GL games are working great under CVPPC......

My best wishes as allways

Pablo

Yes Steve, I see your great videos.

24fps ? .... these are really high speeds :wooha: ..... Please put it in your DropBox

All the Best

Pablo

Hi Pablo my friend, with Mediator & Voodoo 3 on my setup Wipeout2097, Heretic II & Quake II all working perfect

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0bUKGpQe0Ng

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9VLDxNx56E

On Quake II on Voodoo 3 it is 24fps (Timedemo) vs 14fps on CVisionPPC, so it's worth it if you can to get them working on the Voodoo 3

I'm happy to take a backup of my SYS: and dropbox it for you

All the best,

Steve.

A few new pics taken today, I've swapped the ribbon cabled for something a little more up to date, need to re-route them when I have some more time.

Oh also added a DKB3128 & 128mb ZorRam lol, I know who needs almost 400mb Ram in a Classic Amiga

Still, fun though!
