Thanks

I know it's silly, I also have another DKB in another system, tempting to put in here for 512mb LOL

OS4.1 Classic should run nice, I've not tried here though since I use OS4.1 on my AmigaOne, but I will have to test it out since CSPPC SCSI should be quite fast and normally stock IDE holds this OS back

Hey peeps, little project update for you.

Some of you probably read in other threads my CSPPC died a few months ago, since then I've ran this miggy on and off with my CSMkII but I got my MkIII back a few days ago from Stachu with 060 socket repaired so she's now working perfect.

So no PPC here now but running nice with the MkIII, I plan to boot off the UWSCSI and have dual boot CWB3.1 RTG via the Voodoo/Mediator and a nice AfA_OS / CGX4 setup with the CVision.

Here's the bits back in the case

Full Specs:

A4000 RevD (with 030)
Elbox Mirage Pro Tower
Mediator 4000D
Voodoo 3
FM801 Sound Card
Realtek LAN
Deneb USB
ZorRam 128mb

CPU

CSMkIII 060/50mhz + 128mb (Total Ram 256mb)

Storage:

UWSCSI with ACard SCSI-IDE + 20gb ATA HDD

Here's a closer shot of the MkIII / CVision:

Oh and some SysSpeed screens, SCSI needs some settings tweaked in the CS Boot menu as I was able to get 30mb/sec when testing a friends CSPPC.

You can see a Video I made for my friend, of course this was taken with his CSPPC installed and not the CSMkIII shown in the above pics.

I reminded me how much I miss the CSPPC :(

Maybe one day I will find another :coffee:

Stange isn't it, but I don't get that issue with my A1200D BPPC & BVision. (I can't run the PPC version on that Amiga for some reason so have to stick with 68k)

Are you using Radeon Ram by any chance? I'm wondering if it's Slow Ram, I'm tempted to remove the Motherboard Ram off the A4000 and see if that helps. I know the Ram on the CPU is supposed to take priority but it might be badly coded.

I noticed with normal Quake68k when I had only 64mb installed on my CSMkII and ran at 64mb mode it needed to take some Ram from the ZorRam and then was really choppy!

Icons are Kens Icons V3, I can share them if you want to try them out with PeterK's Icon library.

Steve.

i thought it was the radeon ram at one point as well so i disabled it and its just the same,i think its just badly coded as ahi doesent work properly for me as well.i wonder if there will ever be an update for that .

i know if it trys to take memory from elsewhere it gets really choppy or it just crashes, but i put that down to the memory in zorro slots being a lot slower than memory on accelorators, but i dont think thats all thats wrong with this software.

yep if you put a link somewhere for the icon set and perk's library,i'll have a peek a boo:)

roy.

Hi there Roy, I'll PM you some links a little later - everything is on my home computer and sadly I'm working today :(

Can't wait to get home and tinker some more lol! I've got some updates for my A4000T as well

no worries steve, theres no rush honest.:)

Hi Roy,

You can get PeterK's Icon Library here at EAB:

http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=64079

Be sure to read the docs :)

These are the Icons I am using (Kens Icons) which are the same as the one Marios uses in his awesome Workbenches

You can even use OS4.1's MasonsIcons, so you can make your Classic Workbench look just like OS4.1 Classic :coffee:

Enjoy!

I can see that you have CD-ROM with integrated card reader.
What is the exact model of this device?

thanks steve i'll try these out later.

Some more progress!

I had to get some icons from a backup of OS4.1 Classic installed, so sadly quite a lot of System icons are missing from the archives I uploaded.

Check out OS4 Depot for lots of other Icon sets though, you can make some awesome workbench setups :)

Thanks Roy, I'm still trying to find the missing icons or suitable replacements :)

There are so many out there it's going to be tough work! Once I complete it I can share the HDF with you for use on WinUAE and even transfer to a real Amiga

Fantastic setup you have there Steve
I am using Ken's icons, they are quite nice :)
