Just spent all day building this A4000T, turned it on and nothing.

When I soft-reboot it, the screen flickers like expected, but the insert floppy screen never appears.

Sometimes when I soft-reboot it, it goes into a reset loop: grey screen, flashing LED, then reboot.

Unable to access early boot menu.

All cards, drives etc are disconnected.

All that's connected is a BFG9060 and 3.2.2 ROMs. Jumpers on motherboard set to INT for the 060. Jumpers on the BFG seem correct.

I don't have my old 3640 to test with.

Could I be missing something simple here?

Video attached.

Hi

I would recommend that you try ROM 3.1 and DiagROM and see what's happening

After a while, caps lock stops responding. I know that means something, but its been 20 years and my memory is failing.

I know this might sound silly ...

Kickstart ROMS in the right sockets / properly seated?

SCSI is on the Disk module right? Which Buster Rev? Maybe DMA issue

Pretty sure A4091 is DMA bus master might conflict with the BFG somehow

Hold up. Was working with 3.1 ROMs. Put the 3.2 ROMs in and now back to square one.

Curious.

3.2 are the correct Rom for A4000T? You didn't get normal A4000 did you?

Buster 11 can only have 1 DMA bus master so if this is an issue I recall going back to Buster 9 can help.

I remember having issues with a Fastlane Z3 in my A4000T but was 15 years ago so mind is foggy

It's impossible for me as its surface mounted.

I checked and double checked compatibility and was assured there were no issues!

It's impossible to be 100% sure a new accelerator built today will work on all old Amigas, especially when C= used so many different parts depending on what they had on the shelf. Hope you figure it out the 4000T is a glorious bit of kit, I had back 15 years ago A4000T with CSPPC, Picasso 4 Inc cincierto and 3x DKB128s (total 512mb Ram) was the dream machine

Right, so put the 3.1 ROMs back in and got the insert floppy screen.

Reconnected the disk module and still get the insert floppy screen.

So it's definitely the bloody 3.2.2 ROMs i bought.

Could he have labelled them the wrong way round? If i swap the HI and LO ROMs over can I damage anything.

I have observed a strange behavior in the ROMs 3.2.2 at startup everything appears to be fine but after the first flash the computer stays there.

Sometimes if the floppy drive is not connected it could seem that there is some problem and it does not boot from the HD, however connecting the floppy drive works correctly, I have burned several ROMs 3.2.2 and I have seen this on some A4000s and some 1200s without really knowing why it happens. Because then in the end all ROMs worked fine
