A500/A2000 Automatic Kickstart Switcher - New project!

Hello,
I received one of these switchers pre-installed into an Amiga 2000 I had purchased from a member. I actually see his username on the purchase list so I know this switch came directly from you
There are some strange issues with it however and I have a feeling something is wrong with it. When I received it I could not get it to change to the other KS (it has KS1.3 and KS 3.1 installed). I read the manual and it said CTRL-AMIGA-AMIGA for 4 seconds (or 20, depending on the jumper setting) but either way it will never work. Then I noticed odd things like it would randomly be on a different KS once in awhile when the machine was powered on. Or sometimes it appeared that plugging in a mouse or a joystick (not while powered on mind you, but plugging one in and then turning on the machine) would either change the KS or change the LED light for the switcher and never show a KS screen.
I opened the machine, took out the switcher and roms, reseated them, read the manual in detail and set the jumpers properly, triple checked I connected the wire to PIN18 of the 68000, and reseated the device to no avail. It just does not work
I was wondering if you have any clue as to why this would be happening and/or any fix I could try. And if not if you would be able to take a look at it. I live in the USA but I have no problem sending it to France and covering return shipping if you can somehow fix it. I appreciate any help!
Also if you can, please put me down for one "stand alone" version. I need one for another system. Thank you!

Thank you Sir! Turns out it is not the switcher (works in an A500+ just fine) but I would really love to discover the A2000 issue. I have replied to your PM and thank you for your attentiveness

Should I get Ribbon or not? Any advantage for one or other.

PM replied.
For an A2000, a ribbon switcher is needed only if an A500 Accelerator like for example a CSA Mega Midget Racer is installed inside.
If no such Accelerator is used, or if an A2000 Accelerator is installed in the processor slot (not processor socket), a stand alone switcher is enough!
As said in the PM, I update your line for one stand alone switcher.

Oh! Did not think of it might be a problem before I ordered my (non-ribbon version). I plan to use my A2000 with a Vampire accelerator once I get the chance to buy it. Do you think it's better to have the ribbon version then? If yes, could I change my order? Sorry, I wanted to answer to your PM.
If you'll use a Vampire 2 into your A2000, the using of the switcher is impossible since the Kickstart 3.1 is uploaded into the memory of the Vampire.
And finally, the ks rom is to be removed from the socket of the Amiga motherboard.
If you confirm that you'll install a Vampire in your A2000, I'll remove your line in the table.
