@Tuxbar Great project do you have any Ribbon units available and do they fit under Kippers RAM+CF-IDE board's (with adapter board to move it away from the keyboard) in the a500?

Yes! :)

PS. the hold down time seems quite long, it it possible to shorten it to say 3 seconds?

The video shows a very long reset time. Now, the Reset's time needed to swap the Kickstart is between 4 and 5 seconds.

Awesome, 1 ribbon switcher for a500 please, pm coming shortly. :)

I have just take a look onto the adapter board used to move away the RAM/CF board from the keyboard. I don't own one...
This adapter seems to be very near of the Rom socket of the Amiga.
You can look below at the picture of the board from the website of Kipper2k:

And a picture of the kickstart adapter:

I have put the IDE connector onto the side to have to let place of expansions for the A600...

I think there is just enuf room, Im happy to take a punt tho. :)

Before to send the first Ribbon Switchers, I have finished to repair my A600HD and I have made some tests with the Switcher.
First of all, the mini clip used to pick up the Reset signal is to big to be usable onto this version of Amiga. All ICs are smd components.
These clips are sold as smd compatible.

Nevertheless, there is a solution. Onto the A600, the 68000 is a smd IC and the Reset signal is not onto the same pin as the DIL version.
Pin 20 for the A600 and 18 onto A500 & A2000.

Under the 68000, on the bottom layer, there is a vias which is connected to the pin 20.
The solution is to solder a little wire into this vias and to connect the clip at the other end of the wire.

While the KS1.3 to KS3.1 are runing perfectly onto A500 & A2000 with the Kickstart Switcher, I haven't managed to run KS1.3.
Only KS2 to KS3.1 are runing fine. No HD into the A600. KS1.3 is an original Commodore ROM.
It's strange, or perhaps not so much. After a control onto A600 & A500 schematics (from amigawiki.de), the only difference is for /OE & /CS signals.
For A500, /OE corresponds to /ROMEN and /CS is to GND.
For A600, /OE corresponds to /OE and /CS to ROMEN...

Need to make some controls & to make a mod to see if the problem can be resolved.

Please, if you want the Switcher to use into an A600, keep in mind that it's actually usable with KS from 2.X to 3.1.

I'd suggest that the patched ks1.3 Rom would prolly work fine on a600's with your switcher.

Pm me tuxbar if you'd like more info.

I have tested two differents 1.3 original ROMs directly plugged onto the socket of the A600, and the problem is the same.
I have found some forums where people had the same defect, and some others who had no problem to run under KS1.3.
I think it's clearly a problem of the ROM, and I'll need to burn an eprom to see it's the problem disappears.

Conclusion, it's not a problem of the Switcher since the A600 doesn't boot with the KS1.3. I have found some people onto forum who have their A600 which runs fine with KS1.3, but I don't know if it's orginal or burned Rom.
