Case is must:thumbsup: because to protected it from dust and anythings else too

it will have all the benifits of a 010 in hardware (so quit key will work but with a 000).

so if all you want is basic whdload, aca500 will do it. if you want more, get a 1200 aca-card with it. if that is too much, wait for the zeus.

For me the best ACA500 will be one with:

- 68010
- 8MB RAM (autoconfig)
- IDE Port and/or CF port (KS 1.3 autoboot)

and extra CPU.....

- Full 68020 25Mhz

and the possibility to switch off the RAM and the extra CPU (if one) with jumpers/switches.

Expensive? Maybe, but one board like this will be a great update for the A500 family.

:coffee:

I have only question to ask. You said you can use the A1200 accelerator on it. Does that I could have a 060 accelerator for the Amiga 1200 hooked into the Amiga 500 using this card?

I am little unsure how this work. Or do you remove the CPU from the 1200 accelerator card and hook it into the A500 accelerator card?

Lol, Jens has put an a1200 expansion connector on the back of the aca500 card for a1200 accelerators. :)

the 1200 accelorator plugs into the back of the aca500,theres no mention of a 060 card working on it only aca cards and one blizzard 1230.
as far as i know.

Like say I want the Blizzard 1230 (which is the best expansion I can give for the A500, meaning I can finally watch movies on A500 :D :D :D), how can the Blizzard 1230 and the ACA500 fit at the trap door of the Amiga 500?

I am going to be ordering an Amiga 500 at the end of this month with 512 KB of CHIP RAM which is good enough for me (OCS). Then I want to buy an external HD for the A500, then a kickstart ROM switcher between KICK 3.1 and 1.3 then I have a cuzzy multimedia system. Of course I also plan to get that MP3 player thingy from AmigaKit that allows me to listen to MP3 audio in my A500 :)

Well, that solved all the my worries in file transferring between PC and Amiga 500 :D It also gives me support for USB feature as well! Now what really, really, really is missing is a sexy case for this card and the blizzard card installed on it. Ok...I want this!!

The problem also here is with a case that you have to build some kind of door above to be able to swap your cards.

I can see now this will fit in a GVP HC8+ but it's going to be a drag to unscrew the top lid every time you want to swap a card.

whats wrong with a box with slots in the front.

i reckon anyone could get a project box that will fit the dimensions of this.
or even just two peices of plexy glass.

for mine,im thinking of making a aluminium case for it sprayed to match the computer complete with vents and wedge shape,i think it wont be that hard.
with a couple of plexy glass light tunnels to extend the led's to the front, with slots for the cards:)

I'm just ganna keep mine naked like the day it was born :D

I wonder if an old GVP sidecar case could be modded to accommodate this ?

** digs around in Amiga cave **

So this should really get a RAM boost....

This argument has been done to death (I agitated quite strongly for 4mb standard) but Jens is the designer and feels that for his target audience 2mb is enuf.

At least you can add an aca12xx to it to massively boost CPU and ram.

Sorry to drag up an old thread... but has anyone tried to get an ACA500 working in a CDTV?

I've not seen any reports of ACA500 working with CDTV, does it have the same side connector?

There's a huge thread over at EAB maybe someone there has tried?

Hi Steve, Its got an 80 pin header that has basically the same connections as the Zorro port on the side of the A500 so it would need an adapter making. I think the ROMs might need to be changed too and some stuff with auto config memory etc. I was just curious if anyone had had a pop already. I pulled out my poor old CDTV the other day, its been sat in my garage since I moved last year and it really needs the tarting up I promised it a few years ago. I have my eye on the Fast Ram and CF board that Kipper2k has made too though. I'd like to have the CDTV running something simple like Xbench with WHDLoad and can see that the ACA500 or Kippers board might just do the trick.
