A500 + WHDLoad hardware advice

Hello everyone,

i am needing some advice .

I plan to use my A500+ together with a Supradrive 500 XP / 8MB with WHDload.

Do i need a accelerator Card to rn WHDLoad ? If yes, what kind would work together with a Supradrive 500 XP (maybe a TF5030 Rev.2) ?

You don't really need an accelerator for many games. They will work just fine with a plain 68000/68010. It might be worth replacing the 68000 with a 010 as it will enable the quit key for those slaves that was not fixed to work with 000.

I suggest you try it out before deciding to look for an accelerator.

Ok, i thought i need an accelerator for whdload. I already got an 68010 here, cause of the quit key problem.

If your wanting to stay original to the Amiga then what you have is enough.

If you want to have a bit of a boost if needed,, then I suggest replacing the 500 xp /8mb with an ACA500+.

I want to keep my Amiga as original as possible and the cases for the ACA500+ that are available at the moment don´t look nice.

If You like to keep the optical look of Your A500+ close to original, yet have more powerful setup - maybe You should take a look on Terrible Fire accelerator. It uses original 68k slot, has 2Mb of FastRAM, works @50Mhz has FPU and IDE interface onboard. The best part - Yor Amiga looks stock from outside, nothing hangs out of the case (and You can use same accelerator on A2000 too).
