So, I read somewhere recently that 3.2 does not work on the ACA1230? Can others confirm the truth of this? Is there any workaround?

The reason why (according to icomp) the ACA1230 was shelved and no longer sold was far too many support cases where users had activated tuning options via the ACATune software and expecting them to work on their machines.

This was reported mainly from Kickstart 3.1 users so your mileage may vary with Kickstart 3.2. According to the icomp wiki, anything beyond Maprom, CPU cache (not chip cache!) and fastmem are considered "depreciated" and should not be used.

TL;DR: It works fine.

I just got a second hand ACA1230 a few days ago for cheap because it was sold as untested, and turns out the card works. A fresh install of 3.2.2 + hotfixes went without any trouble from a PCMCIA CF card adaptor after booting from a floppy disk with the drivers needed for it. This was on an A1200 without any other expansions, using Kickstart 3.2 ROMs.

The system kept nagging on boot about needing to install the MMU libraries for the accelerator, even when the CPU in my card doesn't have a MMU (it's an 68EC030). I installed the version included with AmigaOS and it stopped complaining, although probably it would have been enough to remove the checks from S:startup-sequence 🤔

I also installed the ACATune tool but I haven't had time to try any settings outside of the default configuration.
